00:00The Lakers end up evening the series 94-85. Low scoring game. You mentioned the Lakers had some
00:07distance in the first half. Timberwolves closed the gap in the second half, but as it got a little
00:12bit closer, it was time for LeBron to get involved on TNT.
00:17I mean, the double-double, 21-11, he did everything. He did nothing in game one and did it all in game
00:35two. If this guy, you know, I think he shows up every night, but he didn't play well in game one.
00:41In game two, he played great. And then you would think that as the series gets more intense,
00:46he's going to get more involved. Yeah, 21-11, 31-12-9 for Luka, as he had himself a big night
00:55as well. Reeves had 16 for the Lakers. Edwards with 25 in the loss. Randall had a pretty good game too,
01:04but you notice, and look, it wasn't all about the threes. We said that the other day,
01:08but big difference when you hit 21 threes and you hit five. The Timberwolves only hit five threes.
01:13They were five for 25 from downtown in that game. And part of that was the physicality. J.J.
01:20Redick wanted to see the Lakers play a more physical brand of basketball. He got that in
01:25game number two. We were very physical tonight, as were they. What do you think adjustment-wise,
01:33what was something that you felt like worked for you guys as you held them to the low 80s and points?
01:38Again, we were physical. I think, you know, playoffs require a different level. And like I said,
01:51pregame, it took us about two and a half quarters in game one to get to that level of physicality.
01:57Well, they just took away the three. I thought they, their plan, they knew they got roasted in
02:04game one by the three, so they weren't going to die on the vine again. So I thought they stretched
02:09their defense and played physical on the perimeter all over the band. And I just thought that that was
02:16the difference in the game. And then, you know, when you think about Luka, it really is incredible.
02:21It's fascinating to me that he's averaged over 30 points a game in the playoffs. And he did it
02:29again. Like, didn't he, you know, this is the second straight game over 30. And only Michael
02:36Jordan's done it. So there's only two guys that have ever done it in history, in the entire history
02:41of the NBA, have averaged 30 plus in the playoffs. And it's, it's just amazing to me that it's
02:47Luka Doncic with Michael Jordan and nobody else has ever done it. That is stunning to me. That is
02:54amazing. So, and don't tell me for one second that he doesn't know it. He goes out every night.
03:01He wants 30 plus. That's what he goes out to do every night. He's like, I need 30 buckets.
03:08I need 30 points no matter what. That's what he does. Guys, you hear these guys all the time.
03:13I don't care about stats. My ass. They don't care about stats when they know they're the only
03:18two guys that have ever done it. He's out there trying to keep it that way. Believe me, you.
03:26And think about somebody, you know, traded him a few months ago. It's just amazing to think about
03:31that. He just, you know, let's just, let's trade him.
03:33And that guy says that he's done a great job.
03:35He's done a great job. He's done a really great job. I'm sure.
03:40I have never seen a more like bumbling idiot in my life in sports that actually thinks he's done a
03:51good job when he did that deal. He did it straight one for one. That, that, that was really amazing.
04:00When you think about it, uh, that he traded that guy for, for Anthony Davis, peanut brittle.
04:05And how many times since he made the trade, Davis went down twice. He went down once for a month
04:12and a half. And then in the playoffs, in the game that they got eliminated, he was hobbling to the
04:18bench and had to leave that game too. Always peanut brittle, always crippled, always injured. Uh,
04:26there's no denying. He's incredible when he plays. And, uh, you know, in my opinion,
04:32he just doesn't play enough to trade Luka Doncic for.
