00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Thursday morning which is fine for many.
00:05We are chasing cloud a little bit this morning but a ridge of high pressure has extended from the north
00:10keeping things fairly settled. Make the most of it through Friday. More cloud and rain arrives across
00:16Northern Ireland with some outbreaks of rain. The wind picks up some strength and this weather front
00:20here will make inroads towards much of Scotland, England and Wales as we head through into the
00:25weekend with showers to follow. Let's pick up on some detail through this morning though and to be
00:32honest it's a mix of cloud and fine weather. We're seeing more clouds across southern counties. The
00:36odd spot or two of rain can't be ruled out. The clouds more broken across West Wales, North West England
00:41but further east that cloud's fairly stubborn as we start the day. A mix of cloud and sunshine so a fine
00:47start across Northern Ireland but a few showers lurking across the Irish Sea. You may find one or two of
00:52those just clipping the Isle of Man. Notice more clouds across the north east of Scotland and here
00:56we'll see the odd spot or two of rain but the clouds breaking up across Shetland as well as Orkney and a
01:02fine start further west although it's a bit of a chilly one particularly across the glens of Scotland and a
01:07bit of a breeze towards the north east. This onshore breeze keeping things rather cooler on the eastern
01:12strip as we head through the day today and that cloud will slowly break and thin so an improving picture and even
01:19further south where you see that thicker cloud we should see some fine conditions through the day.
01:24Best of the sunshine will always be towards the west before thickening cloud will continue just to
01:30move in across Northern Ireland. Notice a wet afternoon across the Republic of Ireland as that
01:35wind picks up. Temperatures then 11, 12, 13 along the eastern side further west in shelter with some
01:41sunshine 16, 17 even 18 degrees Celsius. A fine afternoon to come warm in that sunshine enjoy it
01:47whilst you can. So that's the picture this afternoon. Through this evening and overnight yet
01:53again some clearer skies. The cloud drifts across towards the east of England as well as Scotland
01:58as rain arrives around midnight across Northern Ireland and it could pep up into the early hours
02:02of tomorrow morning with a stronger wind here. Notice it fringes western Scotland as we head through
02:08to daybreak on Friday. Elsewhere it's a fine start to the day with some sunshine. Through the afternoon
02:14not a lot of change across the bulk of England, Wales, central and eastern Scotland but the rain continues
02:19across Northern Ireland and western Scotland as well. Now through Saturday a better start across
02:25Northern Ireland as we see this weather front disintegrate into showery bursts and push eastwards.
02:31So some places we'll see just more clouds. It'll be a bit drier but we will see those showery bursts
02:35continue particularly in the north. Some lurking further south with further showers to follow but also
02:40some sunshine. Temperatures though 16 to 18 degrees Celsius and even higher on Sunday. Yes the warmth
02:47has arrived 17 to 21 Celsius. Yet again we'll see some showers towards the north as well as the west.
02:53Have a lovely day.
