00:00All right, Dave, what do we got?
00:01Well, let's start with hockey where the Devils lost a game one to the Carolina Hurricanes last night.
00:06Five to one.
00:07Coincidentally, that was the same score the Devils lost to the Rangers in game one of last series.
00:13So maybe it's a weird and good sign.
00:16You know, not a reason to panic, at least.
00:18You can say that, though.
00:19The Hurricanes looked excellent.
00:21They looked very fast.
00:22But was not surprised that the Devils would be a little bit flat because that series, you know,
00:27you win a game seven in your home building against your rival, your geographic rival.
00:33It's going to be emotionally draining.
00:35And I think you're going to be a little bit flat for the next game.
00:37They came out tired, man.
00:39No question they came out tired.
00:40It would be nice had the game seven lift would have stuck around.
00:44But clearly the rested Carolina Hurricane brought it.
00:48Just a little bit drained for game one.
00:51But game two is Friday night at eight o'clock.
00:54And hopefully the Devils can rebound.
00:56Also, the Las Vegas Golden Knights took down the Edmonton Oilers six to four.
01:01Basketball, the 76ers were crushed by the Celtics last night in game two of their semifinal matchup.
01:07121 to 87.
01:09As that series is now tied up at one game apiece.
01:13Jalen Brown led the way for Boston with 25 points.
01:17In other Sixer news, star catcher, catcher, star center,
01:21Joel Embiid was named the NBA MVP yesterday after his fantastic season in which he averaged 30 points and 10 rebounds a game.
01:29Joel Embiid is absolutely a beast out there.
01:33We've been, I've been singing his praises for a few years now.
01:36As far as the Knicks go, they next play on Saturday when they take on the Heat for game three of their semifinal series.
01:45That is all tied up at one game apiece.
01:47Knicks coming off a game two win in which they look good.
01:50So hopefully they can continue that momentum.
01:52My fingers are crossed for that.
01:54That's for me, I'm sure.
01:55The only thing about the Knicks is like, man, that's a lot of time.
01:57I mean, the game was Monday or Tuesday.
02:00And then they're taking four or five days?
02:04Yeah, but what's his face?
02:05His ankle is.
02:06Whose ankle is?
02:07Julius Randle.
02:08Randle's ankle is back.
02:09Well, he was back, though, in game two, and he looked great.
02:12So I almost want him to stay on the court, too.
02:14I'm all right with the rest.
02:16You know, like sometimes when you have that ankle injury, they say sometimes, yeah, the rest is good.
02:21But once you start playing, they want you to continue to play because otherwise, if there's too much of a break, it gets even tighter.
02:28And, you know, it's more restrictive.
02:31So, you know, that's something to watch out after.
02:34Baseball, the Yankees took down the Guardians in extra innings last night.
02:374-3, Yankee catcher Jose Trevino got the game-winning hit in the bottom of the 10th, as the Yanks have won two in a row.
02:45The Mets were swept in a doubleheader by the Tigers yesterday.
02:48Mets were defeated by Detroit in game one, 6-5.
02:51And then the Mets lost to the Tigers in game two, 8-1.
02:55The Phillies fell to the Dodgers, 10-6.
02:57Finally, football, the Jets announced that they have signed former Packer.
03:00And Aaron Rodgers' buddy, wide receiver Randle Cobb, good wide receiver right there.
03:06A little bit older these days.
03:08I feel like he was on a fantasy team of mine about a decade ago.
03:10Yeah, that's what I mean.
03:11He was a little bit older these days, but still has dependable hands.
03:15Always had good hands.
03:17The Jets have now hired five former Packer players.
03:21Right.
03:21And a former Green Bay Packer offensive coordinator.
03:24So, are we going to be calling them the Green Bay Jets at any point this year?
03:31I just hope we're calling us Super Bowl contenders when January rolls around.
03:35Is it the Green Bay Jets or the Jersey Packers?
03:38I kind of like Jersey Packers.
03:40They are the New York Jets.
03:42We are gang green.
03:44Good.
03:44And we're going all the way.
03:46We could go all the way.
03:47It's Super Bowl or bust.
03:48You heard it here first.
03:49Carl Craft says a Super Bowl.
03:51That's what you say.
03:51Yeah, I don't say or bust.
03:53You're the only Jets fan I know who thinks this way.
03:55Jimmy Steele I talked to.
03:56He says they have to win a Super Bowl with all these trades.
03:58You've traded the next decade of your franchise.
04:01Yeah, but as a Jets fan, I'm used to them sucking.
04:04So, a decade of awfulness is all right.
04:07But I am hopeful, absolutely.
04:09It's time, man.
04:10They've made all these moves.
04:11They have to go out there and win.
04:13Very exciting.
04:14Meanwhile, my boy, Daniel Jones, is just sitting there collecting money right now.
04:19Yeah, absolutely.
04:19And you know what?
04:19He's in the shade.
04:21No spotlight.
04:22This is exactly where he should be.
04:24Absolutely.
04:25Just working out.
04:26Just working out.
04:27Hey, you know, not for nothing.
04:28If the Giants fans are a little glum because the Jets are getting all this attention, let's
04:31not forget, about 12, 13 years ago, the Jets got Brett Favre, and that was a big deal.
04:37And then the next year, the Giants went out and won the Super Bowl.
04:40Not for sure.
04:40Didn't work out for my gangrene, that's for sure.
04:41So, there it was.
