00:00Dave Sports, what do we got, huh?
00:02Okay, we're going to start with baseball, where the Yankees beat the Blue Jays last night, 7-4.
00:09Aaron Judge homered twice, one of which was a titanic blast of 462 feet to deep, deep center field, right in that hotel suite area.
00:21Landed in the parking lot, huh?
00:23Unbelievable.
00:24And it's his 10th home run of the year.
00:27A little bit of controversy, because apparently some of the Blue Jays or Blue Jay commentators were saying that Judge was looking into the Yankee dugout before he hit his second home run,
00:38implying, of all people, 6'9", Aaron Judge needs to cheat.
00:43Oh, was there someone banging on a drum as well?
00:45That's what they were implying.
00:47Huh.
00:47Well, Aaron Boone had just gotten ejected, like right, like in Aaron Judge's at bat.
00:53Okay.
00:54For arguing a low strike.
00:55And after Aaron Boone got ejected, the Yankees players were still mad and yelling at the umpire.
01:02And Aaron Judge says, hey, when the manager gets ejected, that's it, close the book on it, and then root for the guy at the plate.
01:09Yeah.
01:09So he was saying, hey, guys, get over it.
01:11I'm hitting now.
01:13You know, root for me.
01:14Don't be worried.
01:15Don't be chirping.
01:16That's Aaron Ward's words.
01:17The captain was giving him a look.
01:20Giving his captain commands.
01:21Exactly.
01:22Giving him a look.
01:22Like, guys, it's about the hitter.
01:25And I think that's awesome.
01:26So, yeah, that controversy's been put to bed, like, instantly.
01:29And wait, then he goes and hits a home run in that bat?
01:32In that at-bat is when he hit the 462-foot home run.
01:35Oh, that's fun.
01:35Boy, did he put a period on the end of that sentence.
01:38Yeah.
01:38Yeah, so...
01:38And by the way, I'm going to hit a digger into your backyard.
01:43I mean, I shouldn't have to say this, but since 2016, the, you know, testing and whatnot
01:50is stringent.
01:51And he's never been, there's never been a whisper of a steroid, nor has been there a
01:55whisper of Aaron Judge cheating in any way, shape, or form.
01:58It's sort of ridiculous.
01:59And I think it's sour grapes by the Blue Jays, honestly.
02:02The Yankees are 7-3 in their last 10 games.
02:04They are now five games over 500.
02:07Meanwhile, the Mets crushed by the Nationals 10-3.
02:10Mets starter David Peterson gave up six earned runs.
02:13He receives the loss.
02:15Peterson falls to 1-6 for the season.
02:18He's been bad.
02:19Mets are two games under 500 at 20-22.
02:22After the game, manager Buck Showalter sort of blamed the Mets' sluggish beginning to
02:28the WBC, the World Baseball Classic.
02:30Said our closer got hurt.
02:32And quite frankly, we didn't have all of our guys here at spring training.
02:36Max Scherzer's not doing well.
02:37Verlander had to be out.
02:39I haven't had a good start.
02:41Yeah, that's what Buck has been saying.
02:42Phillies filled with the Giants 6-3 and the Phillies dropped to 20-21 for the year.
02:47NHL playoffs.
02:48The Dallas Stars defeated the Seattle Kraken in Game 7, 2-1 as the Stars will now advance.
02:56NBA postseason.
02:57Tonight begins the Western Conference Finals between the LA Lakers and the Denver Nuggets.
03:02It's a great battle between a couple of MVPs.
03:05We all know LeBron James, how great he is.
03:07Denver has Nikola Jokic, who has won the previous two MVPs.
03:12This guy is an amazing basketball player.
03:15Denver comes in as the No. 1 seed.
03:17The Lakers are at the No. 8 seed.
03:19However, this is a different kind of No. 8 seed when you have LeBron James and Anthony Davis on it.
03:25No question about it.
03:27So I'm excited for this.
03:28Of course, the Lakers just took out Steph Curry and the defending champion Warriors.
03:32LeBron looking for a ring No. 5.
03:35Tomorrow night is the Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat.
03:41That one should be good as well.
03:43Finally, the NFL is going to continue to push this streaming thing.
03:47I'm a little bit ticked off about this.
03:49They've announced that a playoff game this year will take place on Peacock only.
03:55Totally exclusive to Peacock.
03:58Only on Peacock.
04:00It'll be the Saturday night game on Wild Card Weekend.
04:04And let's remember, Giants fans, the Giants played on Wild Card Weekend.
04:08Can you imagine if we missed the Giants-Vikings playoff game this past year?
04:13That's insane.
04:14Because it was on Peacock?
04:15I mean, I know my Jets are going to win the division, so we'll have that weekend off.
04:20There you go.
04:20It's a good attitude.
04:21You might end up in that situation.
04:23Yes, we might, because we have the Eagles.
04:28Wow, that's crazy.
04:30And I have said this before.
04:32I'll say it again.
04:33I have watched live premium events on Peacock.
04:37I am warning everyone.
04:39Yeah, you've pitched about their service before.
04:42Netflix, that's solid.
04:45HBO Max, that's solid.
04:47But Peacock feels like 2011 Netflix when it would buffer, when it would drop out, when
04:55it wouldn't work, when it would just be like an hourglass on the screen and nothing else.
04:59That's what happens on Peacock now.
05:02Boy, if that happens at a playoff game, Wild Card Weekend, NFL, that's nuts.
05:07I'm ticked off about this.
05:09These sports.
05:10And what are you doing to the old people?
05:12My mom, again, with the Yankees.
05:13They're on nine different channels and streaming services.
05:17Why do we got to go to the zoo and look at Peacocks?
05:19I know, it's insane.
05:21Is it going to be on any of their own streaming services?
05:24Like if I buy the NFL streaming service?
05:27It says exclusive to Peacock.
05:29Wow.
05:30Exclusive.
05:31And I really feel that any local sporting event should absolutely be shown on local television.
05:41I would think so.
05:42In other words, if the Giants.
05:43It's not even going to be on the regular local channel.
05:46Say the Giants make the Wild Card Weekend.
05:48What if it's in their home market, for God's sake?
05:50You can't do that.
05:50You have to put it on Channel 9, Channel 11, Channel 2, Channel 4.
05:54Yeah.
05:55This is ridiculous.
05:56That's a bad move.
05:57But listen, the NFL owns its content and they're going to squeeze us every chance they can.
06:02I know, it's like, it's like now we're, it's like having TV all over again, except it's as if you had to pay for every single television channel.
06:16Yep.
06:16I hate the way these streaming services have taken over.
06:20You know what my next move is, and I think I've said this before, they still have over the air signals, HD signals.
06:28You can just get an HD antenna, pick up stations out of New York City.
06:33It's annoying.
06:33I have all these services, but I don't like watching the live events with them.
06:37I don't like watching live sports especially.
06:39Well, that's Davey Mack and Quick Sports right here on The Rat.
