00:30the the show because i mean i feel like a lot of people don't see a lot of shows that are music
00:35and comedy so what's the vibe been like as you've been going around from city to city absolutely we've
00:39done this before last year we had a good run um with this particular show and um we got a little
00:45bit of a different set in terms of some of the artists and we bring trades we got uh monica
00:51jacques um august alcina slow duval uh rip michaels and many more you know i think that
00:58it's a good balance of you know i'm saying people laughing and having a good time in between listening
01:03to great music and it's nostalgic because you know we're talking about early 2000s all the way
01:09to mid-2000s you know r&b so it's it's right man ladies and having a good time you know they still
01:16all types of stuff on the stage when i'm performing so i can't i don't have no complaints
01:21detroit's always been loved so i actually moved out here in uh the middle of october and uh the
01:27first i guess i moved here on a friday and then that saturday was the millennium tour which you
01:32performed at and and uh as you said that that uh that show and the crowd went nuts for you man
01:38listen like i told you before detroit's one of my favorite city when it comes to performances and
01:42just connecting with fans i would say detroit definitely always shows up man
01:46for me and um i love performing there so it's gonna be a fun time and then after this show
01:51we're gonna be at mx for the after party so it's gonna be a vibe so you talk about detroit being
01:56one of your favorite cities when you pull up in detroit what's one of the first things that you
02:00got to do when you get here one of the first things i gotta do when i go to detroit is probably
02:05go to the casino okay get a drink and uh see if i can win some bread real quick see if my luck is up
02:13yeah you know what i'm saying a little 42 and a little couple you know what i'm saying
02:18throw something at the table real quick
02:20that's what's up man hey always got to get that paper right
02:25nah you know i i have fun with it when i can yeah i got time but nah man i love detroit man thank
02:31y'all for always showing love you know you've been in the game for a really long time uh your first
02:36song just a friend came out in 2002 huge song right and i feel like a lot of artists
02:42whose song that first song is so big it's really hard for them to follow up on it but you did exactly
02:48that with with let me love you which is an iconic song it's a huge song uh even to this day so talk
02:54to me a little bit about you know being able to live up to that reputation um you know from where
02:59you started and where you've been moving towards i mean before we even get to let me love you you know
03:04we just got to talk about that first album because god you know gave me the opportunity
03:08to connect with my fans and introduce myself to my fans at a young age you know we had songs like
03:13braid my hair come on you know um chick with the braids never all on my first album you know these
03:22are like day one fans know these songs like you know what i'm saying um man it's a blessing to just
03:28be able to do what i love to do and make a living at it man you know i think that we take for
03:34granted a lot of times even having a passion or finding a passion when some people are still
03:38trying to figure out what their passion is and it's okay if you don't know what your passion is but
03:43find something that you love and figure out how to make it a service for others you know and um
03:49there's always a blessing in that so but following up with with hits you know it takes a village you
03:55know i don't do it on my own i got a lot of great creators around me that keep me motivated and
04:00my fans motivated so we're here so you've also dipped your toe in acting a little bit uh the last
04:07thing it looks like you did was was a couple episodes on empire which you kind of got to mix
04:12the two together do you have any plans to do more acting coming up i definitely have plans to do more
04:16acting you know it's something that is you're working at it constantly you always i'm always going
04:21to cast things you know some of the roles i get some roles i get really close to but acting is
04:26definitely something i'm planning on doing in the future but right now i'm really tapping with just
04:29focusing on my music and getting back tapping with my fans and touring and you know this show is
04:35going to be great i also got a new single out of just drop called used to me features my boy ty dollar
04:39make sure you play that for the people man used to me is a it's a love story about you know you and
04:45your significant other trying to get back together but the culprit between you know the both of y'all
04:50that's intimacy you know i'm saying so used to me is just a it's a grown and sexy vibe but it still
04:55got youthful swag to it so it's a vibe so um you know we talked about uh movies you're on this you
05:03know fall back in love comedy and music jam have you maybe gotten some lessons from some of the
05:08comedians on the tour or are you gonna let the let the joke stay to the to the comedians yeah it's
05:13funny i mean i think in my own space when i'm just chopping it up my friends like sometimes i wish
05:18the camera was on yeah you know i'm saying it's just like i've never had the opportunity to really
05:23show that side of my personality but when it comes to being joke they're telling jokes on stage that's
05:27a different type of skill you know i'm saying you gotta you just gotta be natural with it you know
05:32so i let them do what they do man but you know i see lord duval trying to step over into the r&b lane
05:37you know you know i'm saying he doing his thing i think anybody can do anything they put their
05:42mind to though man like i come from that era of just we're just talented people yeah you know i'm
05:47saying so there's no limits to it so on this uh fall back in love comedy and music jam i know that
05:54you know the tour kind of travels together but who is the person on the tour if there is one one
05:59person that you're the most excited to watch do their thing uh on the show you know i gotta say
06:04monica you know she's just coming back from having surgery on her vocals so you know to see her
06:10out here still doing her thing and like really committed to the art i'm really proud of her i'm a fan of
06:16her music and just a fan of her as a mom and as a person so i would say monica for sure yeah and
06:21has she you know she's you know been in the game longer than you since like 95 i want to say so are
06:28there any any tips and tricks that you're picking up from her while you guys are doing this tour
06:32together i wouldn't say tips and tricks you know what i'm saying but i would say just paying attention
06:38to her life just really understanding like you know when you really love what you do like you
06:42don't got to do the extra stuff to have success i feel like her story is just is just real and raw
06:48you know she still looks like she's 20 years old yeah so she's doing something right yeah you know
06:52what i'm saying that's like my my first celebrity crush is monica i've been a fan of hers like since
06:57day one so you saying that was pretty cool because i like like i said i've been following her
07:02she's a real person man she's a good person she has a great heart yeah have y'all ever talked about
07:07doing music together ever yeah we've definitely spoken about it in passing you know i'm saying
07:12and just like you know but um nothing is coming to fruition yet but you never know man i love it
07:18yeah that's though maybe little duval you said little duval stepping into the r&b world he probably
07:22needs some people to give him a little guidance have you been giving him some pointers on the tour
