00:01Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has confirmed that no cabinet reshuffle will take place following the recent PKR internal elections.

00:09Several ministers and deputy ministers failed to defend their divisional party posts as party members opted to elect lesser-known figures in the elections over the weekend.

00:18Anwar clarified today that the party elections are strictly internal matters and would not affect the federal or state government administration.

00:25He said any issues regarding the matter can be raised in the party's special meeting on Wednesday.

00:32Anwar also said he would assess ministers and government officials based on their individual performance, not political strategies.

00:40Nick Nazmi, Nick Ahmad, Akmal Nasir and Adam Adli were among the party bigwigs who suffered defeats.

00:47While Anwar has ruled out a reshuffle, there is precedent in Malaysian politics for cabinet changes following party elections.

00:55After AMNA's 2009 polls, then-Prime Minister Najib Razak reshuffled his cabinet and appointed several newly elected party leaders to ministerial posts.
