00:00Who are Europe's low-wage earners and how do they make a living?
00:09Low-wage workers earn around two-thirds or less of the median hourly pay in their respective countries.
00:17They represent nearly 15% of the EU's workforce, 18% among women and 12.5% among men.
00:27A quarter of them are under 30 years old.
00:32The highest proportions of low-wage earners are found in Bulgaria, nearly 27%, followed by Romania, at almost 24%, Latvia and Greece.
00:45While Portugal, Sweden, Finland, Italy and Slovenia are at the other end of the spectrum.
00:51Most low-wage earners, 35%, work in hospitality and food services, while 32% are in administration and support.
