00:10High-tech professionals represent over 5% of the EU's workforce, with more than 10 million people.
00:19Gender representation in this sector, however, remains uneven,
00:23with women accounting for less than a third of high-tech jobs in 2023,

00:41The next highest shares of female employment were in the Italian region of Marche

01:00In 2023, Bavaria emerged as the European region with the most high-tech professionals in general,
01:08followed by the Paris region, Ile-de-France, and two more German regions,
01:14Nord-Rhin-Westphalia and Baden-Württemberg, Peloponnesus in Greece,
01:19Bolzano in Italy and the Greek island of Crete reported the lowest numbers in the EU, all below 5,000.
