00:00Riff TV presents Meltdown's Meltdown.
00:08Monoxide, Madrox, Twisted right here, and of course in the lovely Riff compound.
00:13Good to see you guys. Thanks for painting up and coming in.
00:15Good to see you too. This is how we sleep at night.
00:17Many, many sheets and pillowcases are toast from this.
00:20I wore this shirt on purpose just for you guys.
00:23Just because, you know, I have to wear something with makeup on.
00:26There is a lot of hometown happening on there.
00:28There is KISS, there is Detroit Tigers.
00:30Go Tigers!
00:31Man, go Gene Simmons.
00:33They only lost 114 games last year. We can do better this year.
00:37We're tanking for draft picks. I know what you're doing.
00:40I see the Pistons doing the same thing. The Lions need to think about it.
00:44The Red Wings are doing the same thing.
00:45We brought Iserman home.
00:46That's right, exactly.
00:47I don't know any sports. Gene Simmons puts ice cubes in his cereal.
00:50I'll tell you.
00:51I'm struggling over here.
00:52That is true.
00:53That is true. I'm sorry. Go ahead.
00:54Hey, speaking of metal, I know you're a metal guy.
00:56What was the last metal record you bought?
00:58Oh, man.
00:59The last metal record I bought was probably Bring Me the Horizon Ammo.
01:04Okay.
01:04Or some people call it Ammo.
01:06Okay.
01:06But it was, they went through what we went through because they're evolving their sound,
01:12so people put them in a box.
01:14And when I bought that, I was expecting something and was very impressed by what I got.
01:20But a lot of people on the Gram and on the Internet are very, very P.O.ed.
01:24Oh.
01:25Sucks to be you guys.
01:26You need to open your minds a little bit.
01:27Ollie and the Boys really rock that.
01:29I know.
01:29You guys are so, like, active on the Gram.
01:32We try to.
01:33Also, yeah, I know.
01:34So, tell everybody.
01:34Now, I get you guys.
01:36So, which one's the Pops and Vintage, right?
01:38Pops and Vintage.
01:38Pops and Vintage.
01:38And Paul's Pops.
01:40Paul's Pops.
01:40Okay, that's right.
01:41I knew there was a Pops thing.
01:42That's where all the nudity happens, in case you were wondering.
01:46We have a good stake in the Funko Pop community.
01:49Like, we love the vinyl toys.
01:52We love the community, like, all the collectability and stuff like that.
01:55And we've been lobbying to get one from Funko for quite some time.
01:57Yeah, we talked about this last time.
01:58We did.
01:59We did indeed.
02:00You know, it's still on.
02:01I can show you what they told us.
02:04Cases are pending.
02:05We're not allowed to talk about Funko in open public areas.
02:08It's just, it's become such a juggernaut now that we just, we don't fit that.
02:16You don't fit their mold.
02:17I mean, but there are rays of hope because Uncle Rob just got a Pop,
02:22as well as Marilyn Manson, has one on the board.
02:24And I think they gave one to the guy from Ghost.
02:27I was going to say, Papa from Ghost, Papa Uranus or whatever from Ghost.
02:31I think he's got one with the big stick.
02:32And, yeah, so, you know, if he can have one, why can't me?
02:34It comes with, like, a book of the devil.
02:36Well, you know, I don't get it.
02:38Yeah, you know, it's really family-oriented.
02:40Family-oriented.
02:41Mr. Emeritus or whatever your name is.
02:43I think it's your, I think it's your uterus.
02:45That's your Papa.
02:46It's, hmm.
02:47Okay.
02:47Anyways, as we were discussing, you know, you just had Uncle Rob.
02:50He just had a birthday.
02:51He did.
02:52He did indeed.
02:53Just yesterday.
02:53Happy 73rd, bro.
02:54Yeah, there you go.
02:55He is only 173.
02:58He is a vampire.
02:59He ages very well, I'll have you know.
03:01So, you guys have met him before, right?
03:03Mm-hmm.
03:03Yeah.
03:03Absolutely not.
03:04He's a good dude.
03:05A long time ago, I don't say that long ago.
03:08I have no concept of time.
03:09But a while ago, we were asked to play his event.
03:12Remember that?
03:13Yeah, he wasn't there, though.
03:14No, no, no.
03:15I'm saying it.
03:15But this is what I think that was cool about it.
03:18We never shook his paw.
03:19We never shook his paw?
03:20Like, the thing that was interesting to me, though, is like, his fans were giving him
03:25crap for having lost there, and he went against the grain and was like, a book who
03:30I like.
03:30If you don't like it, yeah.
03:32Q, man.
03:32It was just like Q, man.
03:34You know, you get where I'm going with it.
03:35Yeah.
03:35Yeah.
03:36I get it.
03:37I edited myself.
03:37I know.
03:38That's nice.
03:39That's great of you.
03:39Appreciate it.
03:40Capital F.
03:41Capital A.
03:42All right.
03:43And here we go.
03:44So, Generation Nightmare came out back in April.
03:47Great record.
03:48I mean, I've told you how much I loved it.
03:50And you guys are up for, like, some awards I saw.
03:52Appreciate it.
03:53Yeah.
03:53A couple.
03:54Yeah.
03:54There's a couple fan sites, and then there's Australia.
03:57They have a big deal going on.
03:58We got to snow by two Grammys and an Oscar.
04:00We were up for a Tony, but we'd call and take a name off that list.
04:04We don't like to be up there with all the mainstream peeps too much.
04:07No, exactly.
04:07No.
04:07I want to win a Detroit Music Award.
04:10I want to be the vanguard of the city.
04:12I want a key.
04:13I want a day.
04:14I want to hang out with the old Mayor Dennis Archer.
04:16I just want to do things.
04:18Do you remember when we performed at the Detroit Music Awards?
04:20Yeah, absolutely.
04:21There was a lot of crazy-looking faces in there.
04:24That was one of the most uncomfortable things we've probably done as Twisted, looking like
04:28this in front of a room full of just prestigious, well-dressed people, and they were just like,
04:33who?
04:34Outside of walking in here today.
04:36I was like, yeah.
04:37No, you guys, I know how Riff gets down.
04:39You know, since I've been Paquito to a Dorito, I know how the Riff gets down.
04:42The right light switch.
04:43This place was something else.
04:44The poles come out, the dancers, the spaghetti binners.
04:48It's really fun here.
04:49We've come to barbecues here with Dave and Chuck the Freak.
04:51We know how the Riff gets down.
04:52Yeah, that's right.
04:53There you go.
04:54We know.
04:54So you guys have your own event coming up, Astronomicon.
04:56This is a third installment.
04:58It's true.
04:59And by the way, I texted you about this.
05:01I love the documentary, the behind-the-scenes.
05:04It's awesome.
05:04It's on Prime Video.
05:05It's like a half-hour long or so.
05:07Your boy here made a little tiny split-second cameo appearance.
05:10That's right.
05:10That's right.
05:11Hell yeah.
05:11What we did is we tried to make something more or less like an infomercial, but more
05:17or less to open up and show people what it is and what we do and what happens inside
05:21of our world when you come to Astronomicon, because a lot of people are still kind of
05:25in the gray area.
05:26This is our third year doing it.
05:27This is a whole other planet.
05:29Twisted's on this planet.
05:31Astronomicon is its own planet, and we wanted to show people that.
05:34Right.
05:34It has its own population.
05:35It has its own air system.
05:37Its own breathing mechanisms.
05:39It's true.
05:40And we wanted to show that to everybody and show them also, because what we do, it may
05:44not always fall into what we consider family-oriented.
05:48We call our fans family, but this is for Jane and Junior and everybody.
05:53We have good people like, what was it, Home Depot standing behind us and doing the workshops
05:59in the morning for the kids.
06:01DIY stuff.
06:02Yeah.
06:03Shout out to...
06:04There's paperwork you can fill out, and you can become landscapers for Twisted.
06:08We got you going around the ground.
06:10We get you to cut our grass and shovel our snow removal.
06:13We got stuff for the kids to keep them busy the entire weekend.
06:17It's true.
06:18It's true.
06:18But we've upped our stakes.
06:19We got a cosplay contest this year with a $500 grand prize limit.
06:25The kids really made their mark last year.
06:28For sure.
06:29For sure.
06:29I felt that family...
06:31The first year, everybody was like, okay, let's go and let's really see what it's about.
06:35And they were like, oh man, it is what they said.
06:38So the second year, all the kids, man.
06:40It was insane.
06:41It was awesome.
06:42It's true.
06:43It was great.
06:43I'll tell you, I've gone there both years so far.
06:46And it is really, really cool.
06:47You guys do such a great job.
06:48That's awesome.
06:49I know you guys spend a lot of time working on this.
06:51And so you got Lita coming in.
06:53You got Alexa Bliss.
06:54Tell us about all the guests.
06:56For wrestling, yeah.
06:57Lita, Alexa Bliss, Brutus the Barber Butcher.
07:00Brutus the Barber Beefcake!
07:02I told this story the other day and I said that when he first met him, he called him Brutus
07:06the Butcher Beefcake.
07:07And I just can't get that off my mind.
07:09That's just too funny.
07:10I've got a great story about him, but you'll have to come to Astronomica to hear that.
07:16As well as, you know, like...
07:18Chop Top's going to be in the house.
07:20Kevin Eastman.
07:21Kevin Eastman.
07:23The Clerks gang.
07:24Yeah, man.
07:25Putting together the actual Clerks gang.
07:27Actually, for the first time ever, appearing live.
07:32Yeah.
07:32And signing autographs and taking and doing photo ops and stuff like that.
07:34So it's going to be a good time.
07:35Yeah, no, it's really great.
07:37That's happening February 7th through the 9th in Sterling Heights at Wyndham Gardens.
07:40Once again, they're bringing you back.
07:42I saw on the documentary, the guy was like, you know what?
07:44We weren't sure what to expect, but the place is full.
07:46It's true.
07:46Everybody's having a great time.
07:47Yeah, it was nuts.
07:48The first year fell into really bad weather conditions, so we were pretty much snowed
07:52in.
07:52And then the second year, we just didn't have any of that.
07:54So it was like, we didn't know what to expect.
07:56You'll see Darren McCarty roaming around.
07:58Yeah.
07:58Again.
07:59Just a lot of hometown love.
08:00People just showing up to show love for the event.
08:02Not necessarily booked or whatever.
08:04But this year, Darren's going to actually be there.
08:07He's going to be in attendance.
08:08So you know what I mean?
08:08You got that hometown love.
08:09You got that Red Wing love come by.
08:11And he's got that comic book type thing.
08:13Absolutely.
08:14Absolutely.
08:14He's got a lot of agendas and stuff going on, though.
08:17He's a really good dude.
08:17Stop by his table.
08:18Say what's up.
08:18Barack Obama and the girls are coming.
08:21I believe that he's on the list.
08:22I didn't see them on the list.
08:23I didn't see them on the list, but I never rule anything out with us.
08:26Always expect the unexpected.
08:27So what do you guys have coming up after Astronomicon?
08:30Like, what's your 2020 look up?
08:32Hold on one second.
08:33I'm sorry to cut you off.
08:34Any Detroit Piston, Detroit Lion, Detroit Red Wing that wants to come down to Astro, it's on us.
08:39Bring your family.
08:40Yes.
08:41Come and check it out.
08:42Yes.
08:42You guys have entertained us for so long, we just want to give it back to you.
08:45So any of you guys that want to come down, let us know.
08:48We'll take care of the entire thing.
08:50Absolutely.
08:50Yes.
08:51There you go.
08:51Awesome.
08:52So 2020, what do you guys got going on?
08:54Getting ready to tour.
08:55Still recording singles.
08:56Releasing a lot of music on Spotify.
08:59I think we're going to do a record.
09:00Yeah.
09:00Another one.
09:01Gearing up on it, yeah.
09:02We'll be at 13th, right?
09:03Mm-hmm.
09:04You got to do something around the 13th, I suppose.
09:05Absolutely, but it's a different time now than it was when originally starting, there was
09:12this whole album thing, and it's like now a lot of bands are just releasing singles,
09:16just keeping that momentum going and whatnot.
09:18So it's a different time.
09:20It's how school is.
09:21It's one of the problems, I think, with school is they get this three-month break where they
09:24just dump everything, come back, and nobody remembers anything.
09:27It's the same thing.
09:29Instead of you doing a record every year and a half, you can do songs every three weeks.
09:33It just...
09:34Just remain prevalent in the mind of fans, because nowadays you drop an album on Friday, and
09:38by Saturday, you're already replaced with another band.
09:40It's the same sound, and...
09:41They'd ask.
09:41They have the next record coming.
09:43And you're like, dude, I just released it 24 hours ago.
09:46Okay, you know what?
09:47Next Friday.
09:47How about this one?
09:48Like, you just pass through Dallas, and hey, when are you coming to Texas?
09:51Oh my God, every single time.
09:52Every single time.
09:53So we ask everybody to follow us on Facebook, and Instagram, and Twitter, and all the sources
09:56where you can find all the information, and...
09:58And help spread the word.
09:59Yeah, absolutely.
10:00Yep.
10:00Well, I'll tell you what, guys.
10:01We'll cut you loose here.
10:02I know you guys got some other things going on today.
10:04But Astronomicon, once again, February 7th through the 9th.
10:06You can see these guys.
10:08You can see all their guests.
10:09Check out the website.
10:10And of course, as always, guys, thanks so much for coming by.
10:12Thank you, brother.
10:13Appreciate you, man.
10:13Always a pleasure.
10:14Yeah!
