00:00I worry for the future of this country in many ways.
00:08Oh, I'm not.
00:09I think everything's going to work out.
00:11Nothing that's going to change anything.
00:15There's no reason to worry about it.
00:17I worry about the intelligence level.
00:20Oh, that's way gone, dude.
00:22Oh, my God.
00:23I had a couple of incidents that made me realize,
00:25and both on the same day.
00:27So that's really what drove it home.
00:28So, you know, Amber and I were away for a couple of days.
00:31We stopped at this little, like, roadside burger stand one day,
00:36and we're like, oh, it's got a little burger.
00:38Okay.
00:39And I'm like, oh, I didn't grab my wallet.
00:42I just had my phone.
00:43I'm like, oh, you know, it's 2021.
00:46Most places take Apple Pay and stuff now.
00:48It's a burger stand on the side of the road.
00:50I know, but as long as they have a credit card machine,
00:53generally I've been able to use it most places.
00:56Right.
00:56So I walk up, I'm like, hey, before we order,
00:58I just want to make sure you take Apple Pay.
01:01And she's like, huh?
01:04Yeah.
01:05And I said, Apple, I'm holding my phone up, Apple Pay?
01:11Yeah.
01:12Talking slow and pointing.
01:14Like a tourist in a foreign country.
01:15Exactly.
01:16Apple Pay.
01:16His own country.
01:17And she's like, she's like the most blank look on her face.
01:24So she screams to the cook, I guess.
01:27We take Apple Pay?
01:29Paying with Apple?
01:31How old was this person, would you say, roughly?
01:3418, 19?
01:35Okay.
01:36Oh, wow.
01:36They should really know.
01:37Yeah.
01:38Yeah, not a child.
01:38So he's like, yeah, should work.
01:44Oh, wow.
01:44That's not good, though.
01:45Okay.
01:46So I'm like, all right, fine.
01:47So she's ringing.
01:48She takes our order.
01:49I'm like, this is never going to work.
01:50And anyways, she's like, she just stops and looks at me.
01:56She's like, I don't know how to make it the Apple.
02:00Yeah.
02:00She turns her screen to me.
02:04Yeah.
02:04She's like, you know?
02:07Yeah, you do it, Dave.
02:08I'm not familiar with your point of sale device, but let me see here.
02:12Uh-huh.
02:13She's, there's an Apple logo on her screen.
02:16She's touching it.
02:18It's not a touchscreen.
02:20It's just like this, right?
02:22It's like my computer right here.
02:23Yeah, yeah, yeah, like nothing.
02:24She's touching the Apple.
02:25She keeps pushing it.
02:27I'm like, oh, you can't do that.
02:29Well, she's probably used to touch screens.
02:32That's probably old school.
02:33That's why I want to know her age.
02:35I'm like, is she older?
02:35Is she younger?
02:36No, she assumes everything should be touchscreen.
02:38Maybe she is.
02:40But you would think that she'd know that it's not a touch screen.
02:43You don't touch it ever again.
02:45It was her first moment ever using it, right?
02:47Yeah.
02:48So I'm like, no, that's not going to work.
02:51So she's like, okay, just touch it.
02:54You know, she has the little credit card thing she hands.
02:56She's like, just touch it.
02:56And I'm like, well, no, it doesn't say anything.
03:00Like, you know, it'll give you your total and you accept or whatever.
03:03I'm like, you haven't sent it to the machine yet.
03:06And it's like I was speaking Russian to her.
03:10She was just like, I don't know what you say.
03:12I don't know what you say.
03:14Yeah.
03:14So I just reached in and did it.
03:17I'm like, hold on.
03:18If you press total and press credit, you know, with the little mouse.
03:23Yeah.
03:24You taught her.
03:24So I pressed, you know, total and credit card.
03:28And then, of course, it pops up on their little handheld machine.
03:31And I just tap my phone.
03:32And she was like, oh, like it was just.
03:35Yeah.
03:35Mind blowing.
03:36Unbelievable.
03:37Technology.
03:37I don't use Apple Pay a lot.
03:39I don't even know how to set up my Apple Pay.
03:41Yeah.
03:41I don't really, I mean, I've used it before, but it's not like a habit.
03:45I love it because I go to, I hate, I have like a George Costanza wallet.
03:49It's like I don't have too much stuff in there.
03:51So if I don't have to take it with me, I'll just, you know, have my phone.
03:54This is one of those solutions to a problem I didn't have.
03:57I never had a problem taking my card out of my wallet.
03:59Yeah.
03:59No.
04:00Yeah.
04:00So that was one.
04:01Oh, and also the burger, like it said right on the menu, like comes with like lettuce,
04:05tomato, onion, right?
04:06That was their burger.
04:07Yeah.
04:07On the menu.
04:08And so we each ordered a burger.
04:10It came like just beef on a bun.
04:13Like Chuck's style?
04:13Perfect.
04:14Yeah.
04:14And I'm like, Chuck's burgers.
04:16Yep.
04:18It's supposed to come with lettuce, tomato, onion.
04:19She's like, you didn't ask for that.
04:21Oh, there you go.
04:22I'm like, it says, comes with lettuce.
04:24I hold up the menu.
04:25Comes with lettuce, tomato, onion.
04:27She's like, oh, it says that.
04:29Oh, man.
04:30And so it's just, it's, I mean, they're, I mean, it's a roadside.
04:34I can't even imagine what kind of small town he's in.
04:38I'm not five short.
04:38What do you think it is, Burger King?
04:40Yeah.
04:41Have it your way?
04:41They want it your way.
04:42Come on, Dave.
04:43Are you kidding?
04:44The roadside burger joint, you know?
04:47Exactly.
04:47He's expecting to have, like, a whole training program.
04:50Exactly.
04:50Like, you gotta put the employees.
04:52I cooked a burger.
04:53I cooked a burger.
04:54This guy is cooking the burger in the back.
04:58You know, you got the 19-year-old who's never seen the light of day.
05:02He doesn't know what Apple is.
05:03Were you mad they didn't have a cardboard crown to wear to?
05:06Exactly.
05:06And a bed?
05:07And a crown.
05:07You know?
05:09I wouldn't call that five-star explanation.
05:11I want a Dave's Way.
05:12I want a Dave's Way.
05:14Roadside burger stand.
05:15I know, but it says right there, lettuce, tomato, onion, comes with.
05:18You have lower expectations.
05:20I get it.
05:20I get it.
05:20It doesn't say, please ask for.
05:22I get it.
05:23They'd have to hire somebody to slice all those veggies up to put on your burger.
05:25Oh, my God.
05:26Oh, man.
05:28So that was the first part.
05:32Oh, yeah.
05:33Then there was the other, the second.
05:35And so as part of, like, with my credit card, it gives me free, I think it's called Walmart
05:41Plus or something.
05:42Okay.
05:42Yeah, yeah, yeah.
05:43Right?
05:43So, like, they're, it's like free delivery, and when you go in their store, you know I'm
05:48a big fan of electronic stuff.
05:50I can just use the app.
05:52Okay.
05:53I scan my stuff as I walk around so I don't have to wait in the line.
05:56Yeah.
05:58I'm leaving, and what you do is you walk up, you just scan your, it gives you a little
06:03QR code.
06:04Yeah.
06:04You scan it on one of those self-checkouts and it prints out your receipt.
06:07And you're done.
06:08Yeah, you're done.
06:08Well, all the clerk has to do is scan a couple of random items in your cart just to make sure
06:15you paid for them.
06:17Okay.
06:17So the clerk's looking at her phone, she's looking at me, looking at her phone, looking
06:21at me, she's like, says I have to scan three things.
06:27Yes.
06:28And I said, yep.
06:31She's like, I don't, I don't know what that means.
06:33Oh, you're the first.
06:35You're the, you're the first before, so I don't know.
06:38He's the only one.
06:39Yeah, that's true.
06:39He's always the first using it.
06:42This is a different Walmart.
06:42This is a different.
06:43Yeah.
06:43I guess I'm the only one that every, I guess maybe that's, Walmart's not the crowd for that.
06:47People like the old school way.
06:49I'm going to go buy my stuff.
06:50Yeah, I'm getting in line.
06:51You know, take it to a cashier or self-checkout.
06:54They're just, you know, a lot of people are just getting used to self-checkout.
06:57Yeah, the technology level.
06:59You are going to be the first one with the mark of the beast going around.
07:03Yeah.
07:03Buying stuff with your wrist.
07:05You know, like, are you guys ready for this?
07:08I got the mark of the beast.
07:09It says I got a 20% discount everywhere.
07:12He'll be chipped.
07:12Oh, yeah.
07:13I'll just tap my forehead to pay.
07:15Yeah.
07:16Here comes the chip man.
07:17You see Dave's head?
07:20Dave's got a computer on his head.
07:22It's like, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop.
07:23He bought it.
07:24It's called Apple Head.
07:27I'm just kidding with my eyeballs.
07:29Everyone's dumb.
07:30No one knows how to use any of this great technology I've had with me.
07:34We ain't never had anybody use Apple Face before, man.
07:38Yeah.
07:39Where do you even get that?
07:41You know Steve Jobs?
07:43Yeah.
07:45Oh, man.
07:45He's like, oh, man.
07:52Yeah.
07:53Oh, man.
