00:00Riff TV presents Meltdown's Meltdown.
00:08Hey, thanks again for watching Meltdown's Meltdown.
00:10Tell you what, the rock world's been ablaze this week
00:13after the news that Motley Crue is going to reunite and go back out on tour.
00:18A whole four years after they said they wouldn't.
00:21I mean, Nikki Sixx said no matter how much money they give him, he'd never tour again.
00:25Mick Mars was even quoted as saying he would play for free for fans all around the world if they ever reunited.
00:33Anyways, lots has happened in the past four years, so I thought we'd take a look back.
00:36Like, for example, we hadn't even had our first Riff Fest yet.
00:41White Claw? That wasn't even a thing.
00:43People hadn't even started beating each other up over chicken sandwiches.
00:47Greta Van Fleet? More like Greta Van Who?
00:50Little Caesars Arena wasn't even open the last time Motley Crue was on stage.
00:55Nobody knew who the angry lady and the cat was.
00:58I'm still not sure if I know who the lady is.
01:01And it's been so long since Motley Crue was on stage together,
01:03the Lions hadn't even won a playoff game yet.
01:09And my Talking Rock podcast wasn't even a thing.
01:13Speaking of which, I talked with thrash drumming legend Dave Lombardo,
01:16and I asked him if he was going to appear at the final Slayers show coming up here next week.
01:21No. Come on, man.
01:23I'm just asking. I just gotta ask.
01:25Yeah, I know.
01:27No, I mean, I think I have a show on that day.
01:31Oh, you know what? I'm playing Noctfest in Mexico City
01:34and then heading over to El Salvador and playing another festival.
01:38We got to talking about the late Vinnie Paul and Dimebag Daryl.
01:41He gave me a great quote about how music keeps these heroes alive for all of us.
01:46The wonderful thing about music, and I think religions have it all wrong.
01:54You know, they say to have eternal life, you need to follow this religion or follow this dude or accept this or accept that.
02:00I think to have eternal life, you need to be a musician.
02:03Then your music will live forever, and your spirit and your drumming and whatever it is that you gave musical birth to
02:11will withstand the test of time.
02:14You can listen to my latest Talking Rock with Meltdown podcast wherever you get your podcasts.
02:18Hey, guys, have a great Thanksgiving.
02:20Thanks so much for watching.
02:21Meltdown's Meltdown.
