00:48ex-wife christine barnett face a pair of felony charges for neglect of a dependent though both
00:53have addresses in indianapolis investigators say they left a girl at an apartment here on north 11th
00:59street in lafayette between july 2013 and february 2016. court documents say they had adopted her
01:06three years earlier in 2010 two years after she came from the ukraine but in 2012 her age was
01:12legally changed from 8 to 22 in a process which is still unclear we reached out to christine on
01:19facebook she claimed to not know about the charges said the situation with the girl was complicated
01:25and said the girl was diagnosed as both a psychopath and a sociopath so so many twists and turns in
01:31this case now neglect in this case covers a time span that ends on february 28th 2016. 15 days later
01:39a different couple petitioned to become guardians for the girl now i've been able to determine the
01:44barnett's filed an objection and the case references an age issue but the petition was dismissed almost
01:51two years later in january 2018 when that second couple changed their minds but there's no mention
01:56of why of course so why do people keep trying to adopt a 25 year old person because they think it's
02:03there's her picture they think it's a little girl and she's she's conning she's a little ukrainian
