00:00the mix bag get to a bevy of topics here starting with this has gotten a lot of buzz uh over the
00:09social media landscape leroy are you familiar with rich paul yes he is lebron james's agent
00:16he is the head of clutch sports he is the fiance of adele that man's batting a thousand right now
00:24he's winning right number one singer engaged the number one singer represents the number
00:29one athlete on the planet which can have you have a war perception of things because rich paul
00:38yesterday stirred it up a little bit because he is against big threes he doesn't think they work
00:46and in doing so said something that got heat fans pissed off because he basically
00:56minimized chris bosh as being part of the big three through some compliments in there
01:04i'll just let you hear the comments because i i listened to his take and then i'm like i feel
01:10like you are going to get your take here's rich paul on the rat mcafee show i always love a big two i
01:16don't really love a big three i don't i don't really people talk big three but you know the big
01:23three thing has never really worked and you say well what happened in miami that wasn't really a big
01:28three um there was three guys that were winning the lottery and they did really well individually on
01:36their team so they put up big numbers and had big accomplishments but when you think about it
01:41bosh was the ultimate professional he took a back seat and he played a role in which because he had
01:47such a high iq and he was such a professional as an individual his approach to everything is what made
01:53that work when you look in boston okay you can say ray allen and and kevin garnett and paul pierce
02:01was a big three again thinking about names but but but but the way that offense was ran
02:08rondo's capability during that time it was a lot different when you've seen people go for that
02:13it never really worked and i've had this conversation with several different you know owners of teams and
02:21and having this so there you go rich paul on the pat mcafee show uh who appeared to box himself in
02:29by the end of that because i'm like hey man uh what are you talking about there that's that's uh is that
02:37six seven finals amongst those two teams that you mentioned
02:40but it wasn't a true big three like i i i get
02:46i would have said it a little bit differently and i would have said it from this standpoint
02:55it was a big three but one guy had to sacrifice more than the other two that is all and that's what
03:04he was saying by chris bosh being a professional but you best believe if he would have switched
03:12with one of the other two he could have averaged 25 26 so you got to put it in
03:19its proper context is that and he kind of said it the role that chris bosh was asked to play
03:28he sacrificed the most and that's but it didn't make him less of a hall of famer or all-star there's
03:39a couple things like look i don't think a big three necessarily works in today's nba it's different
03:43from the when lebron chris bosh and duane way got together that's why they changed the rules of the
03:49salary cap because everybody was so pissed that it happened and then when everybody else started trying
03:54to make it happen in other leagues the most notable was when kevin durant went to golden state
03:59because of the the cap boom they started making all these rules where like literally as you see
04:04in phoenix if you put the three guys with that kind of salary together you can't make any other moves
04:10like literally right but dude i get you you throw you're throwing on some compliments there but to
04:17just diminish chris bosh yes you're you're there dude do you not remember dexter pitman when chris
04:25bosh got hurt do you not remember it because i remember it i'm still horrified by it i still
04:30remember game three eastern conference semifinals and i remember chris bosh coming back leroy and i
04:36remember the threes in game seven and i remember what a godsend it was and to just be like
04:41and and i i want to say this i don't think he was dismissing chris bosh he was basically
04:50saying what i said in a in kind of a nah he said it it was all messed up it was all marble mouth what
05:02he should because it's ridiculous because he should have said they had a big three but one guy has is
05:06going to always sacrifice his current client right now has a big three what is he talking about
05:12who lebron lebron luca reeves yeah yeah but but reeves was drafted it wasn't like you have a big
05:22but but he's talking paul pierce was drafted by boston or what the heat did no i think what you're
05:32see this is the thing it's kind of like it's like with with chris greer like you get out on a take
05:36and you're like oh yeah we got leadership and then you have nothing to back it up like you come out
05:40there with this take them oh i don't really like big threes i like big twos it's like big but your
05:47example your example are two of the best big three teams of all time like what kind of a take is that
05:55like it's it's a it's it's just it's asinine you can i can agree with him that hey maybe in today's
06:00day and age that doesn't work because the the math has changed on salary cap but just to be like
06:06i don't like big threes and chris bosh wasn't really part of the big three
06:10actually he was you know you know lebron lebron's ass kind of saved by chris bosh it's amazing that he
06:21witnessed all of this and he said that and and says that like like i i remember when the big three
06:30going on one of the first things they said as the first year played out was chris bosh was sacrificing
06:40the most and that's the key by the role he was playing and and and that being said it didn't
06:50diminish his skill set and by the way it didn't diminish it added to his skill set chris bosh was
06:56not the defender that he was in toronto that he was in my three-point shooter and not the three-point
07:02shooter right so like he defined a role like he absolutely right but i would say this you can't do
07:10what chris bosh did and be a scrub of course you can't you can't you can't do what chris bosh did
07:17and how he changed his game right to accommodate the heat you can't do that and not be a special
07:27player and still be able to perform dude like he wasn't like he this wasn't a situation like
07:34what jimmy said oh my role is to stand in the corner 24 and like the other thing that's the beauty of
07:39having those three guys like 24 points a game against the chicago bulls 2011 eastern conference finals
07:45right um like average more than lebron did by the way in the 2011 finals and keep in mind
07:52bosh is a hall of famer a legend dude when you say something like that yeah it's nasty don't disrespect
07:59i don't even think lebron would like that i like and i know he got caught up with it i think he got
08:04too cute on his take but like he'd be like hey what are you doing he's right leroy's right he wanted
08:10to explain what he should have said which would have been a better explanation big three doesn't work
08:14unless one of the three is willing to sacrifice correct and and that is the problem in today's
08:20basketball that's what it is because you can't get paid sacrifice because they all getting paid that's
08:25the problem with phoenix no bradley beale was the one who should have sacrificed he wasn't willing to
08:30but also that's the key in the big three yeah but also look bradley beale's not chris mosh
08:36right right right but i don't wait brown played with two other hall of famers
08:40and kyrie and and kevin love sacrificed right yeah they won the title clay topson sacrificed when
08:48kd went there they won the title one of your big three is gonna have to sacrifice because right
08:54and by the way he's gonna have to have a different role than he was accustomed to having
09:01when he was the the star also one of the stars and also one thing that you should appreciate and
09:07not be looking upon as diminishing it kyrie got so sick of sacrificing that he left your ass in the
09:14midst of cleveland right and he regretted it because it was maybe he did but you want to know something
09:18in the moment he didn't regret it and he couldn't wait to get out of there somebody said that we all
09:24know mellow ain't passing that rebound oh that was another one yes steven a said that that he would
09:30have three-peated that they had mellow no no because you know why he's only doing that because he loves
09:37mellow no but he does love mellow but it's kind of it's kind of it's weird because he knows mellow and
09:44wade are bronze friends so being nice and always showing love to your ops friends is it's kind of like
09:53he's trying to do a back a backhand right right right i would say this no they wouldn't they
10:00wouldn't have here here's why it wouldn't necessarily happen with mellow because chris
10:08bach could play without the ball we could have won 2011 with mellow dude i'm telling no you want
10:13to know what we could have won 2011 with uh vlad i know brown playing better with lebron james
10:18playing like lebron james dude it happened and by the way he averaged less than chris bach in that
10:24series you want to know what what the hell is the last time lebron james averaged 17 points in a
10:28six-game series in any series has that ever happened in the history of his life 14 years ago
10:34it relaxed but but but do you understand how nonsense it like we don't yes guys we do but this
10:41is the thing that's crazy he's maybe the greatest basketball player of all time i think in my two
10:47eyes he's probably the best basketball player we've all seen right why do we continue to need to push
10:53people down to lift him up more but nobody was pushing yes yes you took this to a whole different
11:00level oh it's his agent it's his agent though that's why his agent's doing that his agent's
11:07making it seem like who wasn't really a big three it was it was badly worth it the board it was badly
11:13i told you i told you what he should have said but he did it no because because when he started
11:20talking about how professional chris bach was he basically was talking about his professionalism
11:25and the fact that he had to sacrifice from being the guy to being someone else on a team with two
11:34other superstars if that was debate class and we were sitting there and the professor would have
11:38been like all right mr tobin your time yeah professor he just said why he doesn't like big
11:42threes and just explain why big threes are awesome because that's uh by my count three championships
11:47and six finals amongst those two teams he mentioned time
11:50again i'm not why does everybody think i'm defending lebron it's not about defending lebron
11:58i'm not defending i'm actually i was actually defending chris bach because a lot of people look at his
12:05numbers in uh in canada in toronto and then when he comes down here look at his numbers down here
12:13and not fully understand that of all the big three he had to sacrifice and adjust his game
12:22more than anybody else but one of the things you knew that and you would appreciate that to know
12:30what kind of player chris bach was because guess what everybody can't do that and that was the
12:38uniqueness of chris bach but here's the thing that uh that drives me nuts when chris bach gets
12:43like any part of oh you went down and you you sacrificed something or something went the wrong
12:48way or mellow would have gotten you a a three-peat it never ever is mentioned that if lebron would
12:56have just played like lebron in the 2011 finals you would have had your three-peat and the thing
13:03that's crazy about it is people want to make these excuses about oh the fit wasn't great or it wasn't
13:10perfect okay leroy i'll hear you out on that but riddle me this batman why is it that the heat
13:16went through the east that year when derrick rose was healthy and the bulls won the most games that
13:22they had in that entire four-year run they gentlemen swept them they went through boston who took them to
13:28seven the next year they went through them in five so you could argue the east opponents that they
13:33faced were the best that they ever faced them and lebron wade and bosh went through them like
13:39swiss cheese and then we go to this formulaic oh the fit wasn't right against the mavericks it's not
13:46true he choked end of story i don't want to hear anything else i don't want to hear about matchups i
13:52don't want to hear about sacrifice your guy choked in that spot that's it and you know what it's fine
13:58he made up for it he won his championships but just say what it is and stop putting this
14:03rose-colored gloss over it i have i have a question for you yes
14:08and i don't know if this is a sports thing or a you thing why do you expect every
14:17professional athlete to be perfect all the time
14:23not perfect just a 17.20 the greatest basketball player on earth
14:27there you go
14:30okay that's fine
14:32like i'm sorry mr perfect you've never made any mistakes you've never done the wrong thing
14:38you never probably could have did something a little differently in your life
14:42your life is perfect thank you
14:44i'm not saying he was great i'm not saying he should have
14:48handled jj berrea
14:51i'm saying
14:52that
14:53we've all had people
14:55michael jordan never disappointed
14:57michael jordan didn't win the championship till his sixth year or seventh year and y'all don't
15:03remember all the trash that everybody was talking before jordan won but it's the same thing but i had
15:09the problem with jordan and like in the last dance where jordan's like diminishing pippen
15:13what are you doing what you're michael jordan you're lebron james or you're lebron james representation
15:19right why do you guys feel the need to uplift you guys you guys need more uplift i gotta take a break
15:24you gotta do more uplifting i apologize for obliterating the
