00:00It's going to be a fierce contest. Whoever is going to be here, the SDP has said they will contest.
00:06And whichever team they send, I assume it's going to be a fierce contest.
00:10This applies to other constituencies as well. There are no longer any safe seats.
00:15Every seat can be a hotly contested seat.
00:19And no one can tell beforehand which one will be the most hotly contested, frankly,
00:25because anything can happen in a campaign. And I certainly do not assume that the PAP will automatically win the election.
00:34I do not have a target vote share in mind, but I will, as I said earlier, do our best as a party, as Secretary General,
00:45to present our case to Singaporeans, to present our report card, what we have done over the last five years,
00:51and to highlight our plans for the future. Plans including the changes we have made as part of our Forward Singapore agenda over the last year
01:00to review and update policies, to strengthen significantly the social support system here in Singapore
01:08and to ensure that everyone, every Singaporean feels assured that they have a place here,
01:15that we've got their backs and that we are all in this together.
01:18And this is just the beginning. We've only started this work for Forward Singapore,
01:24and there's still so much more that we can and will do together
01:28if Singaporeans give us the chance to represent them and to serve them as their elected government.
01:34And all the more so when we are entering stormy weather, when we are entering turbulence,
01:39we hope that Singaporeans will select the best team that will give them the best shot of securing a brighter future
01:50for themselves and their loved ones.
