00:00 I just didn't expect this to happen, you know.
00:02 It's like, I just thought he was a very nice person.
00:05 As a person, his personality and everything was very nice.
00:07 When he came to the house and just interviewed us
00:09 and talked to us and all that.
00:10 And I thought, oh, here's a man that, you know,
00:12 he's our MP and we can talk to him, that kind of thing.
00:14 - So I think the resignation is an appropriate measure
00:17 in the face of the events
00:20 and the offices that these people hold.
00:23 - I feel that all the hard work they have done,
00:28 this is a setback for them
00:30 in achieving a credible opposition.
00:32 - I think we're all human being, right?
00:34 Human being, we have flaws, we make mistakes,
00:36 we all have weakness.
00:38 Yeah, punishments should still be executed.
00:40 But yeah, I think all of us should still have
00:42 certain level of compassion for what's going on.
00:44 - Interestingly enough, I don't know,
00:46 does this really affect their ability to be good
00:51 sort of custodians of our voice in the parliament?
00:55 Not sure, right?
00:57 - I think they have done a reasonable job, right?
01:00 I think we do need a strong opposition
01:02 and I think they are one of the stronger ones.
01:04 - Whatever has happened is not to take away
01:08 the good work that the party has put in,
01:11 or, you know, and the way the estate has been run.
01:14 - No, no change at all.
01:15 I feel that I will still support the Workers' Party.
01:18 - Well, I think both parties have had setbacks.
01:20 So I guess it's all fair game.
01:23 No party is perfect, correct?
01:25 So they all make mistakes.
01:27 It's how they come back from this.
01:30 - When you are a person in public media,
01:34 you should know what you're doing.
01:35 You shouldn't be, you shouldn't get your son involved
01:37 with this kind of issues, that sort.
01:40 - I mean, individual like them, they shouldn't do that.
01:42 I mean, this is not very good.
01:47 Both of them married, right?
01:49 So it's totally unacceptable.
01:52 - Kind of disappointed.
01:54 - Yeah.
01:55 'Cause I think she can do a lot of work for WP.
02:01 This is actually their personal issue.
02:03 It's nothing to do with the party itself.
02:05 But they have been doing a great job
02:07 because they have been doing all the grounds,
02:09 you know, in this Bedok area very often.
02:13 - Extramarital affairs and political figures
02:14 like never play out well,
02:16 but I would say that we shouldn't be distracted
02:19 and continue to look at every other incident
02:22 that's been happening.
02:23 (upbeat music)
02:25 (upbeat music)
02:29 (upbeat music)
