00:00New South Wales Police held a press conference a short while ago at the Campbelltown police station and it was there that we were provided a little bit more detail into what exactly went down last night at 11pm when a 65 year old now known to be grandmother was shot and killed during a drive by shooting.
00:18I heard the gunshots, it was a very crisp sound, it was a clear night so it was a very crisp sound. We could hear the family very distressed, it was just terrible and it's just so, it's just devastating.
00:36Police say that this was a targeted attack and that the family were known to police previously. The family had only been living in this neighbourhood for 6 to 8 weeks, they were very new to the neighbourhood and police say that when they arrived officers administered first aid to the woman but she later died at the scene. Here's what they had to say during that press conference.
00:58There was two women inside at the time, the woman who died was inside the house. It's abhorrent, somebody coming up to a house and putting shots off is totally reckless and the consequences are catastrophic. We have a 65 year old grandmother that's been shot in the leg by people that walked up and shot at a house.
01:16Police are still on the lookout for a dark coloured sedan which was seen by neighbours leaving the scene and they also are appealing to the public for any information regarding last night's incident including any CCTV which might assist them in their ongoing investigations.
