00:00It might not look like much from the outside, but in fact UTAS Stadium's first stage of its refurbishment has already been completed.
00:07My name's Ben Hand.
00:08My name's Ryan Bentley.
00:09And here is the examiner's exclusive walk through the new change rooms.
00:13First off, we're here in the team meeting room.
00:16I'm sat on the benches here where all the players will be listening to an almost certain Sam Mitchell tirade after they've been playing poorly for the first half.
00:25In the room we've got this tier seating as you can see behind me and some whiteboards at the front where Sam Mitchell can write some notes up.
00:33One of the coolest features about these new change rooms is actually this lighting panel right to my left which controls the lights that you can see up here.
00:41At the moment it's in Hawks colours, but a simple change can turn the Hawks rooms into the Bulldogs rooms.
00:51So you can have mood lighting for any setting, for any team.
00:55If it's North Lancaster, obviously red and black.
00:57Bridge North are playing in a grand final here.
00:59They could have green and red.
01:01It's any colours, mix and match.
01:03And yeah, it's one of the very cool design features of these new change rooms.
01:07Another cool part about these change rooms is, well, footy players these days are going to make sure they look good and play good.
01:14So obviously they'll be fixing up the hair in these mirrors in the locker themselves.
01:19They've got a place for phone charges.
01:21They've got heaps of room, heaps of locker space and a safe, of course, to keep all their hair gel and phones and wallets in to make sure that the fans are admiring them both on and off the field.
01:34We're here in the new bathrooms at UTAS Stadium. Off to my right here we've got the new ice baths where the players can rest and recuperate after a long, hard game.
01:43To my left here are the new showers, shared showers now a thing of the past.
01:48James Avery and the players were most excited about this part of the facility.
01:53The change rooms themselves are really first rate and I know the players that have used them so far, the Hawks players, have been thrilled with how they've come up.
02:03And it's, you know, as I said, it's just about getting this to the standard that athletes and coaches and umpires and others expect.
02:13The ambition is to ensure that everything is delivered to the highest possible quality.
02:17Anyone who's seen the plans for the redevelopment project get pretty excited because it will really transform the venue and bring it up to contemporary standards.
02:27So, yes, this is a bit of a prelude to what we can expect across the rest of the stadium as part of the redevelopment project.
02:34So, look, it's pleasing that it's been delivered in such a timely fashion and to such a high quality, but that's what we anticipate and expect for the rest of the project from here on in.
