00:11So many of us, if you don't attend, tune in and watch the great race every year.
00:16But we are seeing new opportunities through 24-hour races, 6-hour races, 12-hour races.
00:21And it is important that we continue to invest in infrastructure that delivers real return to locals here,
00:29not only right across the Central West about putting Bathurst and the Central West on the map internationally,
00:36but we have the infrastructure and the commitment to invest and upgrade this infrastructure into the future.
00:43It's an exciting day and I think it is one where anyone that follows motorsport across this country can appreciate.
00:50This is iconic to Australia and to New South Wales and it's important we do keep pace
00:56with the improvements that need to make sure it's a world class track.
01:00And the economic impact that this has on Bathurst is significant and to the Central West.
01:05So this is an investment in the people of Bathurst but also the council.
01:08Just understand that we're a small regional council.
01:11They don't always have the financial capacity to make these sort of capital investments
01:16in what is critical infrastructure for their economic survival.
01:19So to the Mayor Stumpy, this is an investment in you, your community and the Central West.
01:24But I'm also here today, this today is a historic day for Regional Australia.
01:29Today I'm announcing the Regional Australia Future Fund.
01:33Finally, there will be no more funding gaps for Regional Australia.
01:37We're not going to have to fight over the scraps year after year trying to get that little bit extra
01:41to make sure that we have the amenity of life that people in capital cities enjoy and take for granted.
