00:00The Alt Games Festival has just kicked off this morning here in Parramatta.
00:06We're inside the Hive building at Parramatta Square in Western Sydney.
00:10And it's been a hive of activity this morning.
00:13Since the doors opened at 10am, people have been coming in to check out the latest and greatest in gaming development as well as technology.
00:22People will be able to come down for free and check out what's on offer.
00:26This floor here is just one of four other levels that have games for people to come and check out.
00:32There's also outdoor activations.
00:34Here's what some people had to say when I caught up with them having a go at some of the games on offer.
00:39I'm from Western Sydney. We don't have much out here in way of like big community events for game developers.
00:44So this is huge for me.
00:46It is electric in here.
00:48Having it out here in Parramatta is a great place because there's a lot of fracturedness, I guess.
00:53People just generally will go to the city, but it's a bit hard for some people.
00:57There's a lot of community out in Western Sydney.
00:59So bringing it here, I think, with this new facility that's quite impressive.
01:04The gaming industry in Australia is worth over $4.2 billion.
01:08And over 80% of Australians play games.
01:11And so it's a growing industry.
01:13And this festival gives people a chance to connect and network with game developers as well as people who have been doing this for years.
01:21So it's really a chance to connect out in Western Sydney and really check out what's on offer here.
01:27Doors open at 10am tomorrow and they'll be open right up until 3pm tomorrow as well as 3pm today.
01:34So come on down and check it out.
