00:00What does it mean to raise a child in the age of AI?
00:04One father is finding out through play.
00:07Kim Jung-gu writes prompts so that the AI acts like a tutor,
00:11explaining concepts for his space-fascinated son.
00:14It also gives ideas for drawings and turns them into videos.
00:18Hello, I'm Dong-sen.
00:20It's nice to meet you.
00:22Today, we will make a special movie for you.
00:26We go to the library first, once in a week,
00:29and then we explore some books.
00:32And then we make a normal drawing session using the AI.
00:38Five-year-old Do-Han loves planets
00:41and sometimes asks more questions than his parents can answer.
00:45He asked me, what is Yota?
00:48Actually, I didn't have any idea what Yota means.
00:52I go good, but I didn't have any answers of it.
00:55And I just asked to chat to PT.
00:59He just typed, even misspelled Yota.
01:03He just gave us the right answer, what it is.
01:07And I found that it could be really great if I make some knowledge power for him.
01:14Because the creativity comes from the curiosity.
01:17But I believe that that creativity can grow from the knowledge.
01:21So I found the potential that AI could help out those kinds of creativity growth.
01:27Experts say the time spent with AI should be adjusted according to children's ages.
01:33They also say critical thinking is key.
01:36The focus should not be on AI alone.
01:40What is more important is how does that child view JGPT.
01:45If the child does not have any educational experience on learning about how to view these technologies,
01:57Then the child will just view it as someone with greater power and knowledge and that will eventually lead to obeying to the technology.
02:14across South Korea AI is becoming a growing presence in public and private education but
02:25the speed and direction of these developments have raised concerns especially when the tech
02:30is used in tracking students learning well they're trying to create a big data of students
02:36and try to decide what they should learn and I think that is a big problem right now because
02:48what students should learn should be it should be decided by teachers and students themselves it
02:59should be decided by humans not by machines because right now AI is a is a black box we
03:06don't know what's going on in there so it's a it's a very good example of how AI is already
03:13controlling the society Kim says he approaches AI with caution but believes it's important to teach
03:20children to use it as a lifelong tools through play without depending on it my idea is they need to
03:27know that how they can leverage the in terms of using AI for let's say their creativity and their
