00:00U.S. President Donald Trump claims he's fixed inflation, despite the recent market turmoil
00:06triggered by his enactment of global tariffs.
00:09We have to solve problems, and we already solved inflation.
00:12If you look at the numbers, the numbers are incredible, actually.
00:16The stock market's up, and we're not letting other countries take advantage of this country
00:22like they have for the last 40 years.
00:25His remarks follow the release of the latest monthly consumer price report,
00:29which shows a 2.4% inflation rate for March.
00:33It also comes after the U.S. President offered an exemption to Apple and other technology companies,
00:39prompting global stock rises after another tumultuous week.
00:43Trump has since announced he might temporarily exempt the auto industry from tariffs
00:49to give carmakers time to adjust their supply chains.
00:53However, many economists remain reluctant to view a single consumer report
00:58as evidence of a broader trend, and continue to fear that Trump's tariffs will raise prices
01:04and harm the economy.
