A Dubai nursery uses AI and high-tech for early childhood development

At one of Dubai’s nurseries, children are greeted by a robotic dog as part of an innovative approach to early education, combining advanced technology with traditional learning methods.

After starting their day with an AI-powered playful companion at the 'Friendly Early Childhood Center,' children attend several classes and activities. During many of the classes, advanced technology is used to nurture the young minds.

Executive Director of the 'Friendly nursery', Ekaterina al-Bakri, emphasized the importance of keeping a balance between classical education and the incorporation of advanced technology.

00:00She's not giving her leg. What is this?
00:03Nikanoid.
00:05Look, she's giving her leg.
00:09Our center goes beyond the traditional basics.
00:13We blended the classical education with artificial intelligence and high-tech technologies
00:20by implementing the interactive tools such as interactive center table,
00:26such as smart tables, robotic dogs that we have at our reception
00:32that greet and meet children with their parents at the entry.
00:36We believe that artificial intelligence is not a base to learn and to give a knowledge,
00:45but it enhances the creativity and mind of a child to go out of the box
00:52and implement that knowledge in a wider world.
00:55The interactive tools and devices that we're having is only to learn through play.
01:00We give them an additional benefit that they can use
01:05because when you go outside, you see that the world is full of technology,
01:10so they need to know how to use it.
01:12However, the classical and traditional education is with us, and this is the core.
01:18This is our roots. This is how we learn the math.
01:25This is how we learn the calligraphy. This is how we learn the languages.
01:29This is how we learn the science, so it's there.
01:33We never say that we only wanted to use something interactive and something digital,
01:39so classical education for us is number one. This is the priority.
01:43We knew that the investment to have such a nursery will be big,
01:49but we went ahead because we wanted to show not only the UEE.
01:54This is our first international branch.
01:56We wanted to show the world that the nurseries like us are existing.
02:00Yeah, we do have a premium fees.
02:02It's maybe a little bit higher than the usual, but it has been approved from the Ministry.
02:07Let's look for a wreath. Where is your wreath?
02:11Look how blue it is.
02:12Do you see this little strip?
02:14This is water. The pens get wet, so you can see it.
02:18And there are no horses here.
02:20Look, there are onions. Look at your hair.
