00:00Well, let's look at Everton and the current contract situation.
00:05Obviously, we mentioned so many times the amount of change
00:09that's going to be occurring this summer at Everton.
00:13Abdallah Dekore is a key player.
00:15He's been five seasons at Everton now,
00:18and we've mentioned him before and his impact during those relegation fights
00:22where he really dug in and was a key player involved there.
00:26He's obviously one of the highest earners at Everton as well.
00:29What's the latest on him in terms of his possible departure as well?
00:33And then on top of that, some other key players
00:37who are nearing the end of their contracts,
00:39because there is a fair few at Everton this summer.
00:42Yeah, he is a bit of a man, my character, absolutely, Dekore.
00:46But Everton have wasted some money after Oshiri arrived,
00:51and I think they've got value out to Dekore.
00:55He's played under every manager.
00:57He's played under Karl Ancelotti, Rafa Benitez.
01:01The only one he didn't play under was Frank Lampard.
01:04Sean Dyche and now David Moyes has continued to play him.
01:08And Dyche wants to play, I beg your pardon,
01:10Lampard wants to play more of a progressive style,
01:13and it didn't fit him.
01:14But managers seem to like his energy and his off-the-ball work rate.
01:19And he's chipped in with a few really important goals.
01:23He scored that goal against Bournemouth, which kept Everton up in 22-23.
01:27But as Everton are just starting to progress under David Moyes,
01:31playing a bit more football, you wonder where does he fit in?
01:36He's someone who will play well against the bigger teams,
01:42like your Arsenals, your Liverpools.
01:45But Everton in home games, he's only scored two goals this season in the league.
01:51And for a number 10, that's not enough.
01:53You need more from that.
01:55And a 32, would Everton be getting full value for money out of him
02:01if he took up their option of an extra year?
02:05I mean, could there be a compromise?
02:07Because do Everton try and say, well, we can give you two years on less money,
02:12but you'll have a little bit of financial security,
02:15won't have to move your family, et cetera.
02:18But will he want to play that role as well?
02:22He is definitely my character.
02:25I understand why managers want him in the team,
02:28because of that energy that he gives you.
02:31He'll never let you down.
02:32He'll always give 100% in every game.
02:35But there's just a little bit of quality in the final third that is lacking,
02:40and he's not scoring the goals that he was a couple of seasons ago.
02:48So it might look like there's a potential to part you,
02:53to both shake hands.
02:55Corey will always be remembered, to be fair.
02:57He's been a big player in keeping Everton up.
03:01But he's one player who can Everton get him off the wage bill.
03:05Can they get someone in cheaper, someone in younger,
03:07who they can develop, who might be able to score a few goals,
03:10who maybe they can sell in the future,
03:12or develop since a player that stayed around for a long time?
03:15Yeah, the contract situations are interesting.
03:19There's a lot of players that we've discussed as well.
03:23Can you see someone like Dominic Calvert-Lewin stay?
03:25And probably not.
03:26I think he's another one who, all parties,
03:28probably think it might just be best for a fresh start.
03:31That's Michael Keane, the centre-back as well.
03:34He hasn't, I don't think he's made an appearance,
03:36or maybe he's made a couple of sub-appearances
03:38since David Moyes arrived.
03:41He'll want to go and play football after a frustrating few years.
03:45They're just a guy on the game.
03:46He's the one that everyone's looking at, I think,
03:48in terms of wanting to keep, can Everton keep hold of him?
03:51Because he's 35, 36, but he isn't slowing down.
03:54And Everton needs some continuity,
03:58even though everyone wants a big summer transfer window.
04:02There needs to be some players there.
04:04And if you keep that spine of the team,
04:05Pickford, Terkelski, Branfweiss, Idrissa Garnagay,
04:09then you're doing something right.
