00:00Trump's tariffs has sparked global stock market volatility.
00:04Would you still describe Trump's tariffs as a positive for the American people?
00:10Well, initially, well, thanks for having me.
00:12But initially, President Trump actually, before he mentioned the tariffs that he was going to levy on various countries that evolved into reciprocal tariffs,
00:25he said there will be interim short-term pain.
00:30In that short term, we don't know if it's actually a full year, three months, six months.
00:35But in order to restructure the global trade order that many people within America on the left, right, and center said that has been imbalanced for quite some time,
00:49there's going to be some type of friction during that process.
00:54And that's what we're seeing play out with countries like Canada, countries within the EU, as well as China.
01:02So we can expect this volatility both in the stock market as well as the balance of trade, if you will,
01:10with regard to tariffs and non-monetary trade barriers, at least for the foreseeable future with regard to, let's say, the second quarter.
01:19We'll see you next time.
