00:00Is this self-sabotage, Carla, if things were so good?
00:03Well, Mark, if I could, I want to jump in.
00:07Go.
00:08Well, if I could, Mark, you're a very smart guy, but there's a lot of hyperbolic talk in there.
00:15I just have to say, you talked about efficiencies for employees.
00:20The great middle class, 40, 50, 60 percent of America, has not seen a benefit while work has become more efficient.
00:28They've seen a degradation of their lifestyle there.
00:31And I don't mean I don't I mean quality of life where one wage earner could support a family, afford a car, afford to buy a house, a television, put the kids through school and afford vacation every year.
00:43It was one wage earner for for my lifetime.
00:47And then when the globalization happened and those companies moved away, the towns collapsed, their quality of life collapsed.
00:56The main streets were very depressed and empty.
00:59People turned to drugs and alcohol in their sorrow.
01:02It's a devastating story.
01:04What President Trump is doing is saying, look, you can't be a great country and rely on your greatest adversary, China, for your for your rare earth minerals, for your precursors, for pharmaceuticals, for all of the things that you're talking about, the inputs that go into things like cars and military equipment.
01:21We have to make them here. We have to re industrialize, make our steel and aluminum here, make cars so that we can scale up in an event of a conflict.
