During remarks on the Senate floor Tuesday, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) gave a shoutout to Iowa's NCAA athletic programs.

00:00I recognize a senator from Iowa.
00:07We're in the middle of what is known as March Madness.
00:14I'm not talking about budget reconciliation or tax season.
00:19I'm here to congratulate and say thank you to our outstanding student-athletes
00:25who have competed their hearts out on the court and on the mat these last few weeks.
00:33First, I want to pay tribute to our Iowa teams who made it into the NCAA Division I basketball tournament.
00:46That includes Iowa State University women and men's teams,
00:52the University of Iowa women's team, and the men's team at Drake University in Des Moines.
01:00Division I wrestlers from the Iowa Hawkeyes, Iowa State Cyclones,
01:06and my alma mater, the University of Northern Iowa, competed earlier this month in Philadelphia.
01:16I want to congratulate two teams from my home state who won their respective collegiate championships this month,
01:25the NCAA Division III Wrestling National Championships,
01:31the Knights of Wartburg College returned from Rhode Island as co-champions,
01:38and their 16th national title, the most in Division III history.
01:45And the women's basketball team at Dort University in Sioux Center returned to the NAIA National Championship held last week in Sioux City, Iowa.
01:59The Dort defenders defended their title and are back-to-back champions.
02:07Sports brings communities together from one generation to the next.
02:14As loyal UNI Panther fans and proud boosters for our Dyke-New Hartford High School athletics,
02:22Barbara and I would say that sports are like glue that sticks.
02:26A refreshing anecdote in these polarizing times.
02:31And another point to make, which I think I've made once or twice before,
02:39remember last December, we got to December and didn't pass 12 appropriation bills.
02:46We didn't pass a farm bill.
02:48We didn't debate the DOD authorization bill.
02:54We didn't solve the prescription, high prescription drug prices.
03:01And about 65 senators back bills doing that.
03:10So I want to remind my colleagues that there are 14 Fridays between now and the end of this fiscal year on September 30th.
03:20And we ought to think about do we want another December 2025 without doing 12 appropriation bills,
03:29without doing a farm bill, doing the DOD authorization bill, without a debate in the Senate,
03:39and not do anything about high prescription drug prices.
03:43Now is the time to start thinking about whether a two- or three-day working week in the United States Senate
03:50is enough time to do all this important stuff.
03:53I yield the floor and suggest the answer to the floor.
03:58The Clerk will call the roll.
04:00That's why we're good.
04:01And so I think we can remember the film.
04:02So I'm going to mention a few more.
04:03So I'll tell you that if you have a special subscription ...
04:04I've got to give you a special subscription button.
04:06If you find this video, we'll find your application.
04:07You're going to get what you have to do.
04:08I'm going to grab it.
04:09And so I'm going to catch you.
04:10This is going to be a special season.
04:13You're going to do a special subscription.
04:14I'll see you on the menu.
04:17We're going to use the top for your masculinity.
04:19I think that's pretty much more different than the way
04:23you're going to be.
04:24And I'm going to go on the menu.
04:25I'm going to share the second.
