00:00She's been a public servant for 16 years, very experienced, and I had many conversations
00:12with her.
00:13I've been struck by how thoughtful she is, and you know, she was at EDB, at EDB she was
00:24Singapore, and then she ran our EDB's Washington office for a number of years, and in that
00:32capacity she had to deal with many American MNCs, so she has that experience of dealing
00:38with the MNCs and the value proposition of Singapore from an economic perspective.
00:44Then when she came back, she continued to deal with the economic aspects, both job creation
00:50as well as how to make Singapore more attractive for investments.
00:57The reason why we are successful is because we create jobs, so she was one of those many
01:04people in the heart of that.
01:09She was also actively involved in the Jurong Island project, and you know, one of the amazing
01:16stories about Singapore is that we don't produce a drop of oil, but we are the world's
01:22largest oil refiner, and Jurong Island is a very significant part of it.
01:29She worked on the Jurong Island remaking, as it were, 2.0, together with many people,
01:36I'm not saying, you know, not her alone, so very experienced in those ways, very experienced
01:41on the ground, volunteering work, and she will be a very good MP wherever she goes, if elected.
01:55So I have been volunteering over the last few years in different grassroots organisations.
02:02Public servants, each and every one of us, always has the citizens, the Singaporeans
02:06in Singapore's outcomes and interests at heart, so that would be something that a public
02:10servant like myself could bring to the table, as well as the understanding around how policies
02:15are designed, implemented, and like what Min mentioned, a global mindset, and how the business,
02:22how they think about it, and how they make investment decisions, that's something that
02:26specifically to my experience, I could bring to the table.
02:30She's a very enthusiastic person, she has a passion for the residents, and I'm very
02:35happy to share with her, and in future, if she needs any second opinion, I'm more than
02:44willing to share.
