06 April - National weather forecast presented by Kathryn Chalk.
Transcript
00:00Hello, well if you are off on your Easter holidays this week, then there's good news
00:05as high pressure is dominating, bringing plenty of fine and settled days ahead.
00:10So looking at the bigger picture then, this is that area of high pressure dominating across
00:14the UK through much of this week.
00:17The winds will also be easing too, so lighter than what we've had over recent days.
00:23But back to the rest of this evening and overnight, we hold on to lengthy clear skies through
00:28the night.
00:29The winds will be easing along the English Channel too, and elsewhere we may see some
00:34mist and fog developing, especially across parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland.
00:39Always cloudy for the longest across parts of Orkney and Shetland through this evening
00:44and to start Monday morning.
00:46But temperatures will be falling away overnight, we'll see a touch of frost in places, especially
00:51across Northern England and Scotland, we could see lows dipping in rural spots, minus three
00:56or even minus five degrees.
00:59So a chilly start to Monday morning, any mist and fog patches will soon lift and clear.
01:06Still holding on to quite a bit of cloud across Orkney and Shetland, but for the vast majority
01:11of us, plenty of blue skies on offer once again and feeling very pleasant in that sunshine
01:17too.
01:18Lighter winds than of late as well, and feeling warm in that sunshine, especially out towards
01:23the west, but perhaps a little bit more so across the eastern coast, so still some places
01:29could still feel a little bit chilly.
01:32So as we go through Monday evening and overnight into Tuesday, well, not much changes.
01:38We'll see light winds still, clear skies, that'll allow temperatures to fall, and then
01:42we'll see further mist and fog patches developing, still holding on to this cloud across parts
01:48of Shetland too.
01:50So still a chilly night to come as we start Tuesday morning, with a touch of frost in
01:56some places too.
01:59So as we start Tuesday morning, well spot the difference, there's plenty of sunshine
02:03on offer, still some mist and fog patches that will slowly, well, quickly really clear
02:09through the morning, still holding on to some cloud across parts of the far north of Scotland,
02:14and there'll be some cloud just developing to give some sunnier spells into Tuesday afternoon.
02:19But otherwise, we've still got light winds out there, still feeling very warm and pleasant
02:23in that sunshine, especially down towards the far south and west.
02:29And as we look ahead, well, plenty of sunshine still is on offer, but as we start Wednesday
02:34morning, there will be quite a bit of low cloud around that will slowly lift and clear
02:39and retreat back to the coast, but otherwise still plenty of sunshine by day, and temperatures
02:45will be gradually warming as we go through Thursday and Friday, this time particularly
02:49across eastern areas.
02:52That's all from me for now though, but make sure to hit subscribe so you don't miss any
02:55updates, and I'll see you soon, bye bye.
