00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World, my name's Theo Kuusenbert and today's video is your transport
00:04update for the week here in Greater Manchester. There's lots to get into, I'm afraid we may be
00:08focusing on disruption this week, but nonetheless we'll dive straight in. And we're going to start
00:12with the fact that it's unfortunately going to be a long next 12 months for Stockport,
00:16and that's because of the plan to replace the Greek Street Bridge. Now this is a huge engineering
00:21project and it's going to close obviously the bridge and the armory roundabout for up to one
00:26year. It's being led by Network Rail and it is necessary works with the bridge sort of reaching
00:30the end of its lifespan, but it is going to impact a lot of travel in the area. There are a number of
00:34diversions planned along the A6, Edgeley Road and Stockport Road, and drivers have been asked
00:39to please try and stick to those diversions to try and reduce congestion. Bus services that are
00:44going to be impacted include the 11, 309, 310, 312, 313 and the 374, and even those routes are
00:50subject to change over the course of the year, so please make sure you're checking the B Network app
00:55for updates. Now the thing to remember is regardless of how smoothly this work goes,
00:59disruption will happen. The bridge does need to be replaced, as I say, and this probably will
01:03impact your drive into work or wherever it is that you're trying to go, so please make sure you're
01:08planning routes in advance and take into account the extra time that you might need. There's also
01:12disruption in Bury with market regeneration works, meaning that multiple bus services will be running
01:17with diversions. This is particularly after the hours of 7pm, which is when works commence each
01:22day, and it's all part of a plan to regenerate Bury town centre, which could be a big boon to
01:26the local economy. Again, many bus services are affected. These include the 163, the 433,
01:33the 467, 468, 471, 472, the 483 and the 487. As always, plan your routes in advance,
01:42make sure you don't get caught out, and follow Manchester World for more.
