Contestants Johnny & Emma Nicholls from Somerset & Avon and Brenda Hines & Freddie Admar from Darlington & Buckinghamshire, plus Cathy & Ian Boke from Inverclyde, and Paul & Michelle Lackley from Shropshire compete in this Christmas special of The Generation Game, hosted by Bruce Forsyth and helped by his lovely assistant Rosemary Ford. Games include (poignantly) Ukrainian Cossack dancing, merengue baking, "Deer Friends" (where they have to spot the celebrities dressed as reindeers) and "What Goes Where", which involves putting on ice hockey gear and where the chap concerned Rick Brebant is quite taken with one of the contestants. The final two pairs then face off in a panto version of Cinderella, but with a twist for the one playing the villain - they have to do it in the style of Frankie Howerd! Oo er missus! Among the guest stars are Frank Bruno, Dennis Taylor, Bella Emberg, Leslie Grantham, Bruno Brookes, Bobby Davro, Gloria Hunniford and Kathy Tayler, plus the voice of Frankie Howerd, who was too ill to appear in public sadly.
