Aastha Shah might have been bullied for her vitiligo... But now she's teaching others about it, and living her best life too.
Transcript
00:00Everyone who has vitiligo is actually beautiful, even someone who does not have vitiligo is
00:14beautiful.
00:15The doctor told my dad and mom that I know how parents feel when their child is diagnosed
00:29with vitiligo.
00:30So I wanted to take it a little slowly.
00:44Vitiligo is not a disease, it is not contagious, it's not cancerous.
00:49I started going to temples, different kind of medications, homeopathy, allopathy, putting
00:58cream, a lot of superstitions thing where people would be like, go drink this juice
01:02or have this from some other temple.
01:10You look like a dalmatian dog, you have disgusting skin, you look like LED light, you look like
01:31white paint.
01:32You will not be able to get married.
01:38I remember looking at myself in the mirror and being like, no, I cannot attach myself
01:52towards the way I look.
02:04The attention I got was very different.
02:07I didn't like the fact that the attention changed.
02:10I think this is the biggest myth where people think if you have vitiligo, it has to be like
02:14patchy.
02:15It is not that.
02:16People have different kinds of vitiligo, gum surgery and you bleached your skin.
02:43I still do have problems related to it.
02:47I still get sunburns, which are really, really painful.
02:50I get like huge blisters, which take a lot of time to heal.
03:15I really, really want to meet Vinny Harlow and I hope that happens very, very soon.
03:19I hope this message reaches Vinny Harlow because I love you a lot.
