00:00More than 170 Filipinos were forced to work in a scam hub in Myanmar.

00:07The government said that the need to work was met,

00:11but they remind us to be careful not to get involved.

00:19Rose is a liar. She doesn't have a real name.

00:22She discovered it while being forced to work as a scammer in a scam hub in Myanmar.

00:28Like her husband, she was also involved.

00:31Her husband decided to go back to the Philippines,

00:35but they said goodbye to their employer.

00:38Rose and her husband were tortured.

00:41They said they don't know anything.

00:44No food intake for almost a week.

00:47We are not allowed to sleep.

00:49If we sleep, they will electrocute us.

00:52They shot me with a gun.

00:54Rose's story is that they were recruited by a messaging app.

00:59They were hired as a call center agent in Thailand.

01:03When they were hired, they were first flown to Hong Kong,

01:06then to Bangkok, Thailand,

01:09and finally to Myanmar by boat.

01:12Another Filipino victim, whose name we will hide,

01:16was shocked by their separation from her husband.

01:20But in the end, they also met after being sold by their Chinese employer several times.

01:27Rose's Chinese boss even burned her passport.

01:31I feel sorry for the Chinese boss.

01:34How do you know that I was not allowed?

01:36After the hardship of her husband,

01:39of more than 170 Filipinos who were recruited in scam hubs in Myanmar,

01:46they were followed by Filipino officers in Thailand via chartered flight.

01:51Because they were still being sold to Myanmar,

01:53Thailand was still the last stop of their passport.

01:56They were already overstaying,

01:58but Thailand allowed them to leave immediately.

02:01The only reason they are going home now

02:06is because the scam factories are closing.

02:10Because the Thailanders shut off the electricity and the internet.

02:16This is a trilateral cooperation with Thailand, Myanmar, and China.

02:21After returning to the Philippines,

02:23the victims were asked by the scammers in Raisay

02:26to sue their recruiter.

02:29They will be given government assistance.

02:32Some Filipinos were left behind in their scam hubs in Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos.

02:38All were sent to Thailand.

02:40Although we can go to Thailand without a visa,

02:42it doesn't mean we can work in Thailand.

02:44So if they promise you jobs in Thailand,

02:46where will you go?

02:47We understand that we need jobs,

02:50but not in this way.
