00:00So, 13 days on from their triumph at Wembley, are you over it yet? I'm certainly not. Newcastle
00:07United will parade the Carabao Cup trophy around the city for everyone to bask in the
00:13glory of what Eddie Howeside did. You know, lots of it is made of the fact that it's been
00:1670 years since their last major domestic trophy, goes 57 since their last major trophy of any
00:22kind. You know, a lot has been made up on that over the last couple of weeks, but Saturday
00:2629th March will be the day that the whole city can come together and celebrate as one
00:31the achievements of this site. Now, 32,000 at Wembley were able to do that, of course,
00:36in the initial minutes and even hours after the final whistle last Sunday, but there'll
00:42be thousands of people back at Newcastle who couldn't go to the march, even people who
00:47travelled to London or across the world, who will now be able to celebrate with Newcastle
00:51fans in the city centre. And it's set to be a brilliant day on Saturday night. The
00:57council said it's going to be an event that the city's never seen before. The amount of
01:01people expected to be there, over 100,000 we expect to be in Newcastle. It's going to
01:05be a tremendous day for everyone involved, the one that the club will obviously hope
01:11goes smoothly and one the fans will treasure forever. Now, the club have announced that
01:16there will be an open top bus parade. There was confusion at the beginning whether that
01:19would be included or not. Now, safety concerns had to be thought about, you know, road closures,
01:25everything. So, you can see why the club necessarily held off on announcing the open
01:29top bus parade straight away. They're obviously going to have the event on the Town Wall,
01:32which we'll get to, but yes, the open top bus parade will start up at St James' Park,
01:35make its way along the Gallagher, up Percy Street and up to the Town Wall, where the
01:39players will then get off with the trophy and the players and staff will get off. They'll
01:44then be presented on stage at an event held by the, put on by the club where each player
01:48will come on, be introduced by whoever's presenting this and then, you know, there'll
01:54be another big trophy lift for fans to enjoy. And it'll be a day where, as I said, Newcastle
01:58fans can just celebrate and just really reflect on what this team have achieved, the history
02:02they'll go down in. And yes, another chance to celebrate with their Newcastle Knights
02:06heroes of the day, you know. You've got players like Bruno Guimaraes, obviously a fan of Joe
02:11Linton, who straight away after celebrations, off to Brazil to go on international duty.
02:15Dan Byrne, the goalscorer, and Alexander Isak, the other goalscorer, both went on
02:19international duty. So, you know, they've had, and obviously the rest of them who weren't
02:23on international duty went to Dubai. So they've had a lot of time apart, the players, you
02:27know, they haven't really been together since even the early hours of Monday morning before
02:31they all left. So it'll be a nice celebration for them to, you know, meet up again and celebrate
02:36their achievements. And of course, Newcastle fans to celebrate their achievements. At the
02:39Town Wall event, we'll have music, I believe special guests have been teased, and the club
02:44will play the full match. Again, I'm sure that most people in attendance there will
02:49have seen that full match probably once or twice since last Sunday. But yes, you know,
02:53that'll be a big event. No drink allowed, but I think that's the good thing. I think
02:57it'll allow the families to enjoy it and, you know, people to come together. Now, of course,
03:01you know, pubs and bars, restaurants across the city will be open, and they'll be expecting
03:05lots of business on the day with the bus parade. Now, if you're one of them who's just going to
03:10watch the bus parade, and then go and celebrate in the bar, you know, you've got them options.
03:13And if you're one that's going to do just the Town Wall event, you've got that option. Oh,
03:16of course, you might be doing both. You might go have a look, get a glimpse of the bus,
03:20get over the Town Wall to celebrate. But yeah, it's going to be a tremendous day and one that,
03:25you know, it will live long in the memory of every single Newcastle fan there. It doesn't
03:28happen often. Now, I hope this isn't the last video I'm ever doing that says Newcastle United
03:32are planning an open-top bus parade. I hope I'm doing many of them in the future. But yeah,
03:35right now, this weekend, it's going to be a brilliant day. And of course, once that's over,
03:41we don't want to think about being over. But once that's over, they've now got 10 really big
03:44Premier League games to go to try and get Champions League football. Conference League football's in
03:47the bag. That was secured with a win at Wembley. Can they get Champions League? Can they make that
03:51next step? They don't have to get Champions League. You know, there's lots of talk about
03:55keeping all their key players, especially Isak, of course. I don't think Newcastle have to get
03:59Champions League to necessarily keep all of them players. But it would be a little stagnation on
04:03their journey. You know, they missed out on the Europa League again this year. If they can get
04:06Champions League and win the trophy, that's incredible. That's an incredible achievement,
04:11and one that will stand them in good stead, both in the transfer market, when they're trying to
04:14attract players. And of course, this time next year, when the PSL calculations are coming in,
04:18when the Champions League finances are all coming in. So yes, it's going to be a huge 10 games if
04:23they can get that. And start with Brentford. Brentford are no-mugs. We've seen that plenty
04:26of times. Newcastle were defeated by them in December. They obviously beat them a couple
04:31of weeks later at St James' Park. So, you know, both teams go into that game one win apiece this
04:36season. But yes, that's a huge game. And then the games come thick and fast after that. You know,
04:40we've got Leicester, Manchester United, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa all within sort of two
04:45weeks of each other. So that's going to be a huge period for Eddie Howell's side to try and get
04:48Champions League football. And then, you know, they can celebrate all they want on Saturday,
04:51and I'm sure they will. And I'm sure Eddie Howell will encourage it. He encouraged it after Wembley,
04:54and I'm sure he'll encourage it again. But once Sunday hits, once Monday morning gets in,
04:58you know, they'll have to be back forwards. As I said, they've got 10 games to play,
05:0230 massive Premier League points to play for. And in the race to Champions League,
05:06we all know how close that gap is in that race. So yeah, it's going to be a tremendous day on
05:11Saturday. I'm sure it will be. We'll have all the very best videos, pictures, stories from that day
05:18on the Shields Gazette. I'm going to be in the crowd. My colleague Dom Skirr will be hopefully
05:23up close and personal with the players. So we'll have all bases covered that day. And then of
05:27course, back with everything you need to know ahead of the Brentford game, all the pre-match
05:33updates, team news, injury news and everything like that. So yeah, it's going to be a really
05:37busy few days for Newcastle United. And of course, the best way to stay up to date with
05:41everything that happens across the whole club is with the Shields Gazette.
