I miss your content brother
What have you been doing and will you start making videos again. Do Spotify podcasts like then old days on youtube
Will you shave your head for 4b movement ?
What do you think is the value of a college degree anymore?
If you feel like every thought you have is outside of society's Overton window should you consider moving?
How do you define the ‘meaning of life’?
Hi Stef, hope you're doing great. I used to watch your podcasts when you were on YT.
Won’t you take me to funky town?
Seriously, I don't think the brainwashed radical leftists are going to stop. What are your thoughts?
Are politicians subject to contract law? (Why don’t they simply put their campaign promises in writing?)
Why do the masses hate the truth so much, and those who speak it?

00:00Good morning everybody. A couple of questions from the wonderful listeners
00:04at freedomain.locals.com and subscribestar.com slash freedomain. Hope
00:09you'll join the community. Don't carry the burden of philosophy alone. Be a
00:13friend, have a friend. Did you live in Budapest at one point? No. How to deal
00:19with enormous moral failure? Well, so the goal of modern society is to not teach
00:24you anything about virtue and then when you do things that go against your
00:29involuntary conscience you then get overwhelmed with despair and give up on
00:33virtue. So the way that you deal with an enormous moral failure, which we all
00:37have, is you try to learn from it, you humbly recommit yourself to virtue and
00:43you accept that we live in extremely untutored times and therefore we're
00:47basically just going off instincts and instincts will lead us astray because
00:52instincts are sort of a pre-moral state of sensation slash body cognition. So an
00:59enormous moral failure, you apologize, you make restitution and you recognize that
01:04it likely came about because of a lack of knowledge rather than
01:08malevolent intent. You work to gain more knowledge and recommit yourself to
01:12virtue. The only failure that lasts from a moral failure is despair. All right,
01:18please teach us how to build good definitions. Well you have to start, I
01:22mean it's a tough job, but you have to start from, right, it's metaphysics,
01:25epistemology, and then ethics, right? So epistemology, sorry, metaphysics is the
01:32study of what is real, epistemology is the study of what is true, and ethics is
01:36the study of what is moral or right. So you've got to hook your definitions into
01:43metaphysics for the most part. That's what science does, right? So science says
01:47that nature is not contradictory, right? Something can't both expand and contract
01:52at the same time in the same dimensions. If something can't go up and down,
01:57gravity cannot repel and attract simultaneously. So the best definitions
02:02hook right into the nature of matter and energy which is consistent and
02:07non-contradictory. I mean we couldn't be alive if the properties of nature and
02:12the rules of physics were contradictory and inconsistent. If carbon atoms turned
02:18into hydrogen atoms, turned into water, there would be no stability
02:23enough to build the foundation of life on. So this is why UPB is so powerful, as
02:27UPB hooks into metaphysics, universally preferable behavior. It has to be
02:33consistent, it has to be logical, in order to be moral. And so because it hooks
02:40through epistemology into metaphysics, the only way to resist UPB is to deny
02:45the nature of reality, which is not a problem you have with UPB, but a problem
02:50someone like that would have with sanity itself. I miss your content, brother. It's
02:56kind of funny, I'm still here, right? What have you been doing and will you start
02:59making videos again? Do Spotify podcasts like them old days on
03:03YouTube? Well, I've been banned from both places. Will you shave your head for
03:07the 4B movement? I know, I have not just a four head but a five head. What is your
03:11best advice for a young father? I think we talked about this before. I know some
03:14of these we've done before, but I... What do you think is the value of a college
03:18degree anymore? Outside of the the technicals, outside of the real
03:22technicals like engineering and math and science, it is a sign of subjugation. Why
03:28not come back to X and YouTube? Been through that before.
03:33If you feel like every thought you have is outside of society's Overton window,
03:37should you consider moving? I live probably 250 years in the future, that's
03:43my home, and I wrote about it of course in my novel The Future, which is a little
03:50further down the road, but I live in the future and therefore there is no place I
03:56can move in the present where I will not be outside the Overton window. The
04:00meaning of life? Pursue virtue and fight evil.
04:07Won't you take me to Funkytown? Right, I don't think somebody says,
04:12seriously, I don't think the brainwashed radical leftists are going to stop. What
04:15are your thoughts? Well, I'm happy to reason with people who are happy to
04:19reason, or at least willing to reason. The people who don't want to reason? I don't.
04:23I don't have anything to say to them. That is, dealing with people who
04:27are aggressive and violent and don't want to reason is not the job of a
04:31philosopher. All right, are politicians subject to contract law? Why don't they
04:36simply put their campaign promises in writing? Well, there's no magic in
04:39putting it in writing, right? I can put that I'm a unicorn in writing, it doesn't
04:42change the nature of my essence. So, no, politicians, I mean, the people in charge
04:49of enforcing the law are not subject to the law in general, right? Why do the
04:54masses hate the truth so much and those who speak it? Because the masses,
04:57unfortunately, have been trained and broken into wanting things for nothing,
05:00right? Which is to say that the masses have been trained and broken into
05:04enslaving others, and when you have adapted your life into the enslavement
05:10of others or towards the enslavement of others, or the sustainability of your
05:13life requires the enslavement of others, at least in your mind, then you can't
05:16accept the truth, right? If you are a slave owner and all of, like, you know, 18th
05:22century, 17th century, wherever, right? You're a slave owner and your wealth and
05:27your status and your survival, in a sense, is all dependent upon you continuing to
05:34be able to own slaves, well, do you like moral philosophy and the truth that
05:41slavery is evil? No. If you're a single mom or, you know, some male
05:46high-level government worker, I mean, if they think of all the people who have
05:49jobs in government that are ridiculously overpaid and you don't even
05:53have to go into work and there's, you know, you just basically have money
05:56deposited into your bank account for jiggling a mouse from time to time, how
06:00much are you gonna like the free market? You view the free market
06:02as a predator that is gonna take you down. So moral philosophy, universality,
06:09and consistency opposes those who survive by exploitation. Now, of course,
06:14they would survive even better without exploitation, but that's not their
06:17particular perception. It feels like saying to people, you'll do better
06:21without exploiting others, it feels a little bit like trying to convince a
06:25lion that he should be a vegetarian, right? The lion doesn't feel he'll
06:29survive and doesn't want to. So I hope that helps and I really do
06:34appreciate your great questions and comments. Thank you so much. Have yourself
06:37a wonderful, wonderful day. Freedomain.com. I'll talk to you soon. Bye.
