00:00Hi, I'm Mary Beth McAndrews from Dread Central. How are both of you?
00:05I'm Mary Beth, doing great.
00:07Awesome.
00:08Congratulations on Novocaine. What a fucking great time, pardon my French.
00:12No problem.
00:13But my first question for you, Ray, what was the training for this and getting ready for it to play Simon?
00:19I had...
00:20He's been in Guns Out most of this movie, and it's, uh, yeah.
00:23Yeah, I mean, listen, Ashley Robinson is a world-class kickboxer, and he kicked my ass every day, so that was super awesome.
00:31Uh, really fun.
00:32Hell yeah.
00:33Yeah, that was the main thing. Ashley Brew.
00:35You're right.
00:36Yeah, hanging out.
00:37Uh, Jacob, did you also get your ass kicked training for this movie?
00:41No, I had a good time just...
00:42A little less training.
00:43No, I had a good time just watching everyone else get messed up, so I think that was a great time.
00:47Hell yeah.
00:49Well, and Roscoe, I love Roscoe's character. Obviously, comedic relief, and he's kind of off-screen for a lot of the film.
00:54What was that like for you, playing a voice and then having this grand, heroic, in-a-way entrance in the film?
01:00It was really fun. I think that, um, you know, we pre-recorded a lot of the lines, obviously, in the movie,
01:06and it was just funny to kind of see Nathan Cain's character kind of just, like, kind of stumble through it all,
01:13and it really gave me something to, like, react to. It was just such a hilarious...
01:17And then when we finally meet up together, it just, it was all perfect. It was really so fun.
01:21Had you met Jack Quaid before you started recording your lines, or was it a pre-meeting?
01:26I actually... This is really funny, but I feel like people, like, come across paths a lot of times in the industry,
01:31and we've met a few times just randomly, and we...
01:34I met him... I saw him at something a couple months before I had gotten the part in the movie,
01:39and we randomly were like, we should do something together sometime.
01:43And, uh, it kind of just happened out of nowhere.
01:46Yeah, that was really funny, yeah.
01:49And then, Ray, for you, what was it like, especially working with Amber?
01:54Because she said you guys get to play off each other so well in this film.
01:57What was that like, getting to kind of play, uh...
02:00I won't put any spoilers, but what was that like?
02:03Amber and I were like, when we met each other, we were just like, oh, thank God.
02:10It was just really that simple. It's like, oh, you were the... Okay, good. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
02:15So that was, like, very easy how well we got along,
02:18and, like, that was sort of one of the things that I was most worried about, pulling that off.
02:23But we truly were each other's confidant during shooting,
02:26and we just had a great time with each other.
02:29And, Ray, you're really growing in the horror-sphere-slash-the-genre space.
02:33What's it like this year between, you know, Smile 2, and then this, and then Borderline coming out?
02:37It's already going to be such a big year for you, huh?
02:39It's a lot all coming out on the same weekend.
02:42I know!
02:45No pressure, but...
02:46You'll be like me a lot.
02:50And it's fun, too. Borderline's fun, too, y'all.
02:52Borderline's fun, too.
02:54I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.
02:59Well, thank you both so much. I really appreciate you taking the time.
03:02Thank you. Thank you.
03:03Congratulations on everything.
03:04All right.
03:05Bye.
