00:22The charge was framed under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
00:26However, no plea was recorded as the case falls under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
00:32No bail was offered and case mention was set for May 26.
00:36Meanwhile, the accused 26-year-old wife Nur Nilam Kamaruddin pleaded not guilty to a charge
00:42of abusing and causing physical injuries to the boy at the People's Housing Project in
00:47Pekan Kepong at 9.00 p.m. on February 25.
00:51The charge was framed under Section 31, Subsection 1A of the Child Act, 2001.
00:58Deputy Public Prosecutor Joshua Tee did not propose bail, citing the gravity of the offence
01:04and the victim's death.
01:06However, Nur Nilam, who was unrepresented, appealed for a lower bail on the basis that
01:12she is two months pregnant and has three children.
01:15The court granted bail at 10,000 ringgit with one surety and ordered the accused to
01:22report to the nearest police station once a month until the case was concluded.
01:28Case mention was set for April 9.
