Doncaster daily bulletin February 25: Stephanie Bateman with the headlines
Transcript
00:00Good morning, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press on Tuesday, February the 25th.
00:03Just bringing you some of our headlines this morning.
00:06First of all, we have one from the police.
00:08The CCTV appeal was put up yesterday following a reported robbery earlier this year,
00:14which took place in a Mexbrush shop.
00:17The incident involved a man being assaulted and the cash still was stolen.
00:22There is an image of that, the man believed to be involved there.
00:27So if you could take a look at that, if you do know who it is,
00:30by all means, please get in touch with the police and let them know
00:34so they can continue to investigate and get somebody caught for that.
00:40Then another one that's doing really well for us.
00:43First thing yesterday morning, actually, that's still top of our charts.
00:48We've got a new, well, a popular Doncaster city centre cafe,
00:53which has reopened its doors after quite some time.
00:57It's quite a sanctuary for some people.
00:59People go along there to just have a nice little natter, a cup of tea,
01:03and there's some lovely food on offer, some specials.
01:08So please take a look at that and go and support it.
01:10Obviously, all local businesses need as much support as they can at the moment.
01:16And then finally, we have one regarding breakfast clubs
01:25for Doncaster schools.
01:27The government had an announcement yesterday morning.
01:31It was embargoed, so we couldn't give you any more information until yesterday.
01:38Basically, it means that quite a large number of schools across Yorkshire,
01:43many in Doncaster, are going to be entitled to free school breakfast clubs for those in need.
01:50So that's all on the website this morning for you.
01:54Visit www.doncasterfreeforus.co.uk for those,
01:58and obviously, X and Facebook as the day goes on, and have a lovely Tuesday.
