00:00Hello, please sit down. How are you all?
00:17It's really fantastic to see you all here and I could hear the noise of
00:39people talking and chatting and children here as I came in so it's really a
00:45privilege to welcome you all here to Downing Street this afternoon and we
00:50must work for a lasting peace. One of my biggest fears is a ceasefire which is a
00:56temporary reprieve but simply gives Putin the space to come again and that
01:01would be the worst of outcomes. It must be a lasting peace for you, for your
01:06children and your children's children so that you can live as you should be able
01:12to live in a proud, safe and sovereign Ukraine, able to make sovereign decisions
01:18as a country about the alliances that Ukrainians want to make, the partnerships
01:25Ukrainians want and the way of life that Ukrainians want. So we will not
01:29falter in our support, we will not stop our efforts to end this war and we will
01:34not rest until the people of Ukraine can live peacefully and safely in their own
01:40country. So thank you for being here. I do hope I can have the privilege of seeing
01:46you here or elsewhere on an occasion where we are not celebrating another
01:51anniversary of this conflict but we are genuinely celebrating freedom and peace
01:57for Ukraine and for Europe. So thank you very much. Slava Ukraini!
