Police have charged a 20-year-old Rockhampton man with murder after an investigation into the death of a 10-week-old girl in January. The girl died three days after emergency services found her unconscious at a central Queensland property.

00:00The 10-week-old baby girl died in a Brisbane hospital last month after injuries allegedly
00:07sustained at a Grey Smear address, a suburb on the outskirts of Rockhampton in central
00:12Queensland. Emergency services were called to the property at 11.15pm on January 19 with
00:18reports the baby was unconscious and not breathing. The girl was flown to Brisbane but died three
00:23days later on January 22nd. Police have now charged 20-year-old Tyron Peter Donald Greerley
00:30with one count of murder of a domestic violence offence. Officers confirmed the man accused
00:35was known to the baby and said no further charges are expected to be laid at this stage.
00:40Very traumatic for obviously all involved, including obviously the police officers and
00:45the emergency services. We've been working very closely with the family and obviously
00:51we'll provide support to those people out there.
00:54The alleged offender had his charges mentioned in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court this
00:58morning. He's due to appear again in April.
