00:00The Department of Agriculture is encouraging stakeholders to set the maximum suggested retail price for pork in March.

00:10Meanwhile, the MSRP of imported rice is set to be lowered by Vell Custodio in Italy.

00:20The Department of Agriculture consulted with stakeholders on setting the maximum suggested retail price for pork in March.

00:28According to the DA, the retail price of pork should not reach Php 400.

00:33If your farm gate is Php 250, the mentioned Php 100 plus profit margin, Php 380 is reasonable.

00:43Aside from setting the MSRP, another thing the DA is considering is the possibility of adding an option where pork and chicken can be bought at a lower price.

00:55Similar to rice, where we introduce rice for all, we are also looking at the possibility that the DA can also intervene on the possibility of pork.

01:10Meanwhile, many retailers are following the new maximum suggested retail price for 5% broken imported rice

01:17after the Department of Agriculture lowered the price of imported rice from Php 52 to Php 55 per kilo.

01:25According to the DA, even though there are still some that are not lowering the MSRP to Php 52,

01:30these are the rice that are being used to buy old stocks of rice.

01:34The agency is targeting to lower the MSRP to Php 49 in March.

01:39The DA also issued the first 150 metric tons of NFA rice to the local government units this week,

01:47following the declaration of the National Food Security Emergency on rice.
