00:00The maximum suggested retail price of pork meat has started to be implemented today in Metro Manila.

00:06It is still a part of the actions of the Department of Agriculture to control the increase in the price of pork meat

00:13in spite of the low farm gate price.

00:15Vel Custodio was at the center of the news.

00:20The vegetables sold by the owner of the grocery store, Mayra, is cheaper.

00:23She says vegetables are cheaper than meat.

00:26Even if they want to buy it, they can't because it's expensive.

00:30If it's left, it will go bad.

00:31That's why she's happy that the price of pork meat is going down.

00:35The next implementation of the maximum suggested retail price in Metro Manila has started today.

00:39It's a big help if the price goes down.

00:41Maybe the price will go down if the price of pork meat is fixed.

00:46In the released by the Department of Agriculture, the maximum suggested retail price of pork meat was reduced

00:51350 pesos per kilo of MSRP for pork shoulder or kasim

00:55while 380 pesos for pork belly or pork belly.

00:58It's effective from today.

01:00According to the pork seller in Mega Q Mart,

01:03the price of pork meat they buy is reduced by 10 to 20 pesos.

01:08Before, the price of pork belly and pork belly was higher.

01:13Now, it's reduced by 10 pesos.

01:36According to the Department of Agriculture,

01:40one month after the implementation of pork MSRP.

01:44The DA, DTI, and PNP will also be involved

01:47to ensure that the markets will follow the correct price of pork.

01:50Even though pork MSRP was only implemented in Metro Manila,

01:54the DA is also studying the cost structure in other regions

01:57so that pork MSRP will also be implemented.

02:00Meanwhile, the Agricultural Group of Sinag

02:03has already implemented MSRP for vegetables,

02:05especially for onions

02:07because the price of onions is low

02:09compared to two weeks ago.

02:11We can say that right now,

02:13the farm gate is down.

02:15The white is at 25 to 30 per kilo.

02:19The red is between 60 to 70.

02:23So if that's the trend,

02:25we're suggesting to implement MSRP

02:28so that consumers can benefit from the cheap farm gate.

02:32If the white is only at 30,

02:34maybe MSRP will be at 8, 70 or 80.

02:38And then the red,

02:39it shouldn't exceed 100.

02:41Sinag and the DA have reached an agreement.
