00:00The Department of Agriculture consulted with the stakeholders on the maximum suggested retail price of pork in the coming months.
00:09This is the statement of Vell Custodio of PTV Manila.
00:12The Department of Agriculture consulted with the stakeholders on the maximum suggested retail price of pork in March.
00:23According to the DA, the retail price of pork should not reach Php 400.
00:28If your farm gate is Php 250, you can increase the profit margin to Php 100 or 100+.
00:36So, Php 380 is reasonable.
00:38Aside from the establishment of MSRP, another thing the DA is considering is the possibility of adding additional options
00:45where pork and chicken can be purchased at a lower price.
00:49Similar to rice, where we introduced rice for all,
00:53we are also looking at the possibility that the DA can also intervene on the possibility of pork.
01:03Meanwhile, many retailers are following the new maximum suggested retail price of 5% broken imported rice
01:12after the Department of Agriculture lowered the price of imported rice to Php 52 from the previous Php 55 per kilo.
01:20According to the DA, although some are still not lowering the price of Php 52 from the MSRP,
01:25these are the rice that the old stocks of rice are just letting go.
01:29The agency is targeting to lower the price of Php 49 from the MSRP in March.
01:34The DA has already issued the first 150 metric tons of NFA RISE to the local government units this week
01:42following the declaration of the National Food Security Emergency on rice.
01:46From the People's Television Network, Vel Custodio, Balitang Pambansa.
