00:00Watching the democratic campaign unfold in the United States is like watching a train wreck.

00:10You have to wonder, does America really have only these two choices,

00:14a lying felon on one hand and an aging, confused president on the other?

00:20Well, that seems to be the case at the moment. And for the Democratic Party,

00:24it seems to be an utter failure that they were not able to prevent Joe Biden from running for

00:29president again. And that now that he is running, they don't seem to be able to come out strongly

00:35enough to tell him it's time to go. As I said in a previous column, it's very difficult to watch

00:40anyone age and many of us will age in this way where we will lose our cognitive abilities and

00:46really be as forgetful as Biden appears to be at the moment. But the issue here isn't just about

00:52getting older. It's whether he is fit mentally and physically to be the leader of the United States.

01:00And increasingly, it appears that that is not the case. So why didn't the Democrats

01:05wake up to this problem earlier? Because now, according to leading media outlets in the US,

01:12it was clear that his cognitive abilities were on the decline for a couple of years.

01:16Now, there's a very big difference between the Biden that we see on stage or speaking in public

01:21even two, three years ago from the man that we see today. And even now, many leading Democrats

01:27are very hesitant to openly ask him to step aside for fear of hurting his feelings, perhaps out of

01:32respect. But what they don't realize is that time is running out. The best thing, of course, would

01:37be for Mr Biden to step aside on his own. And at the moment, he is in real danger of tarnishing

01:43his own legacy. He's had an incredible political career. He has been much respected through all

01:48these decades. But now, at this time in his career, it looks like he's desperately clinging

01:53on to power. And that's not something that he would want to be remembered for.
