00:00Hi, I'm Zania Webo, and I'd like to show you where I train at MyGolf Dubai and Dragon Mart, too.
00:16I'm originally from Fiji with a touch of Indian. My grandfather is full Indian.
00:21My mom is full Fijian, born in Sydney, and I was raised in UAE in Ras Al Khaimah for the past 27 years.
00:31Growing up, I was self-taught with my father. I was always a natural athlete growing up,
00:35so it was very easy for me to kind of pick up body coordination, swing, and things like that.
00:41I'll show you a couple of the open bays over here.
00:44And so this is where some of the lessons take place.
00:48I turned professional in 2018. Obviously, I thought I needed to kind of take it a little bit more seriously
00:53and get a bit more detailed in my stats, so I had gone to Ross MacArthur at Trump International Golf Club,
01:00and he helped me through the whole thing of knee recovery, getting my swing back, and the weight shifting as well,
01:07because my confidence in that wasn't very good, but he really did help me with that.
01:12On the right over here, we've got the pro shop and the cafe slash restaurant, which I must say is pretty good.
01:21I turned pro through the WPJ, which is the Australasian tour.
01:25However, when I was here, and then I couldn't fly back because of corona, so they had stopped all flights going in, coming out.
01:31So then I emailed the ladies who are the tournament directors at the Sunshine Tour, and they said,
01:36you can definitely bridge on, you know, seeing as the situation isn't really good.
01:39So I bridged on to the Ladies' Sunshine Tour.
01:42I didn't play as well, and I was expecting not to play well as I was recovering from knee surgery,
01:47but I did gain a lot of experience, you know, getting over the nerves and playing with different people and different characters.
01:53And then from there, I bridged on to the L.E.T. Access Series.
02:01It's great to have some other girls that are on the same tour as me, who are based out of Dubai as well.
02:05For example, like Kristina Nefilova, who's from Czech Republic, and she's great.
02:09We spent a couple of nights together staying at some of the events in the Ladies' Sunshine Tour,
02:14and she really helped me kind of smooth my entrance into the tour,
02:18and then helped me get over my nerves and everything, and introduced me to some other ladies as well.
02:22So it's been pretty good so far.
02:26You got a few private rooms just down here.
02:30And I'll show you my favorite room of all time, which is the VIP room.
02:36I found this really great place called My Golf Dubai, and I found it through social media.
02:40And to be honest, I didn't expect it to be how it is.
02:43So when I walked in, I was just blown away.
02:45So I've pretty much made myself at home, and I practice here, I play here.
02:50I also play at Dubai Hills quite a bit as well.
02:54During the summer, because it's so hot outside and it's unpractical and unproductive for me to put train outside,
02:59I've been coming to My Golf Dubai in Dragon Mart II, which has some really great simulators.
03:06It's from Golfzone as well, and it's cool air, and there's a little cafe with some coffee and things,
03:11and the staff are great, and it's such a great atmosphere here.
03:14And I can really just take my time, and I don't even know how long I've been here for,
03:18but it's just such a great facility for me to train at.
03:25My summer plans at the moment is just to play here and train here for the next two, three weeks
03:30before I head off to my second event on the Ladies European Tour Access Series in Malaga, Spain.
03:36And then from there, I've got seven more events until the end of the year, and then head off to Kew School.
