00:00Photography was always my passion, mostly landscape photography, but at some point,
00:20about three years ago, I realized that pure landscape is still not something that I'm
00:26looking for. Because I travel a lot to local communities, I see how people live the traditional
00:32life, and I feel like a combination of people and landscape, the people that live the native
00:39life in the landscape. This is the most harmonious and most idyllic picture. So since three years,
00:46I changed a bit my style, and here I present this exhibition about Nenets people of the
00:52north of Yamal region in Russia, in order to showcase their life, their hard but happy life
00:59in the very north of Russia.

01:18I spent half of my life traveling the world to document stories and events that matter.
01:25Life and War is a selection of images that spans over 15 years of documenting the war, the misery,
01:33and the human, the destruction, and the resilience of those who got caught in the middle of this war.
01:39So in this selection, you'll see images from different parts of the world. It's important
01:44for me to show these images to remind and document as a witness to these things that
01:50happen in the world.

01:57I've been doing street photography for about almost 20 years. For me, street photography
02:03is about a live movie moving on the streets. As a photographer, I feel that you could put a pause
02:08in their lives, and that pause is very, very important in any photographer's life because
02:14that is the moment which you want to show the world. I'm a photographer who doesn't like to
02:18capture big moments, but in fact, small moments which are visibly unseen a lot of times.

02:33Exposure for me is, first of all, connection, personal connection between photographers,
02:39their audience, their community, and I love it a lot. To be able to connect it, to inspire
02:46myself, other people, and to be inspired by others. For me, showing my work here means the
02:52whole world is going to see the pictures, hear the story. Exposure is doing an amazing job bringing
02:58all these talents, all these photographers from all over the world to this spot. As a photographer,
03:04I learned a lot here, and I share my knowledge with other fellow photographers. This is my
03:08third time around, and this surprised me every time. It just keeps getting bigger, better,
03:13and beautiful. So I would, if you ask me what is exposure, it's about the three Bs,
03:18bigger, better, and beautiful, and it is simply overwhelming to be here to look at such big prints.
