00:08Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today his country's relations with the UAE was
00:13much more than a trade tie as he hailed the growing ties with the UAE as deep, broad and
00:19vibrant.
00:20Addressing the members of the Indian community at the Dubai Opera, Modi said his government
00:24was trying to bring India to a global benchmark.
00:28Modi, who is on a two-day visit to the UAE, earlier laid a wreath at Waqf al-Karama on
00:32Sunday morning.
00:34India and the UAE signed five agreements on Saturday, including a deal to grant a consortium
00:39of Indian oil companies a 10% stake in Abu Dhabi's Lower Zakum concession.
00:44A UAE minister has shot down rumours that the government may raise the rates of excise
00:49tax or value-added tax.
00:51Obeid Humeid Al-Thair, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, also confirmed that the
00:55UAE was not considering any legislation to introduce income tax, but he said the ministry

01:10this week of the Jaibora, built by the Al-Athar Group.
