00:00The annual free to enter CSI Dubai show jumping championships took place last weekend at the
00:11Emirates Equestrian Centre and featured three days of high class show jumping coupled with
00:15fun for all the family. The action was great as riders competed over six classes for cash
00:19prizes and equestrian fans came out with their families to join in on the fun. She's my mom
00:23from India, she's visiting us and I took my baby first time for the horse jumping show
00:28because I feel that it's lovely out here, the weather is perfect. My wife is very much
00:33into horses so it's just a good day out so we thought we'd come and have a look. We have
00:36just arrived here in Dubai yesterday and then we read about this in the newspaper and since
00:41I'm from Norway and do a lot of show jumping here we wanted to come to see this event.
00:46So it's a fascination, the horse and the rider together. The final day of the show jumping
00:50championships opened with the 120,000 Durham Longines Accumulator Class, an event that
00:55allows competitors to choose the jumps they will attempt. Each of the fences cleared is
00:59worth a certain amount of points based on difficulty, with the winner being decided
01:03by the highest points and fastest time. The event was won by Germany's David Will riding
01:07his horse Monodea with a time of 52.43 seconds and 65 points. It was actually a classical
01:15accumulator class with a very difficult joker at the end where you really had to pay attention
01:21and focus one more time after trying to be fast and I was lucky today, it worked out well and my horse jumped very good.
01:29The major draw of the Dubai Show Jumping Championships is the FEI World Cup qualifier Emirates Airline
01:35Dubai Grand Prix, which awards the winner with a spot in the Dubai World Cup. Alish
01:39Apartney from the Czech Republic became the first winner of the Grand Prix, steering his
01:43horse to a faultless 43.86 second run through the course, topping a field of 28 competitors.
01:49His mount, Akovaro, is 10 years old and not known for his speed, but certainly proved
01:54worthy of the test. Akovaro is 10 years old, I riding him 2.5 years, and I was in December
02:042nd in Salzburg by 4 star, he jumped very good.
02:13The event was a delight for fans and curious onlookers alike and was a big success for
02:17those riders and horses that trained hard to top the field here in Dubai. Logan Fish,
