00:00Thousands of race fans converged on the Maydan racetrack on the 29th of March 2015 for the
00:1220th installment of the Dubai World Cup.
00:15There was plenty of entertainment on display as well as some creative outfits for those
00:18in attendance for the Jaguar style stakes.
00:20Pink is a great colour for my pigment actually and this time of year it just blossoms really.
00:27For the fans who made the journey to witness this year's fastest horses compete for the
00:31world's richest prize, it was all eyes on the track.
00:34Nine races took place at the World Cup and the winners of each race took home no less
00:38than 600,000 US dollars with the winner of the big race, the Dubai World Cup, taking
00:43home a staggering 6 million US dollars.
00:46Action began with the Dubai Kahala Classic.
00:48The battle was intense but when the dust cleared it was Manark ridden by jockey Dane O'Neill
00:53taking first place with a truly amazing display of speed and quickness.
00:56It's riding a little bit quicker.
00:59I think the speed is going to hold today.
01:03But it's riding well.
01:04They say the kickback in behind us is getting up a little bit but luckily I was in front
01:07in the first race and I didn't get any so we thought he'd run a big race but distance
01:11was unknown.
01:12He was stepping right up in distance today so we weren't sure.
01:15We thought if he stayed he would have a good place chance.
01:18In the Dubai Gold Cup race, the first of the evening to take place on the turf track, fans
01:22were thrilled by the performance of Brown Panther ridden by jockey Richard Kingscoat
01:27as they brought home the 600,000 US dollar prize for the delighted owner.
01:30Everything went really perfect for him.
01:33He jumped good and travelled away nicely and that's the way he likes to do things and he
01:38just grinds them into the ground so job well done again really.
01:42To have a big win on a big stage is great for us so I'm very grateful to everyone.
01:47In the Golf News Dubai Golden Shaheen race, Thoroughbred Secret Circle ridden by jockey
01:52Victor Espinosa achieved his first ever win in Dubai as he pulled ahead down the stretch
01:57to claim the coveted 1.2 million US dollar purse.
02:00It was great.
02:01I mean it set up great for the last half a mile.
02:05In the beginning it was just a little technical to think about what should I do.
02:14Some decisions that you make sometimes are wrong but today I did the right thing, I made
02:18the right decisions and that's all it takes to win a race.
02:21You know what, it's my first time to win a race in here.
02:23I've been here a few times but nothing really with a legitimate chance to win a race.
02:29They all ran well but this year I think I have good horses to come, not only a couple
02:35but good chances.
02:37So far it's one down and just one more to go.
02:40But at the end of the day it was the biggest race in the world, the Dubai World Cup that
02:43had the fans on the edge of their seat.
02:46Last year's winner African Story ridden by jockey James Doyle were looking to take the
02:50title for the second year in a row and California Chrome ridden by jockey Victor Espinosa,
02:56fresh off his win in the Gulf News Golden Shaheen race, had a lot of momentum going
02:59into the evening's final and most prestigious trip.
03:02But it was Goldolphin's Prince Bishop ridden by freshman jockey William Buick who was able
03:06to pull ahead of the group and secure the victory to the delight of the fans and owners.
03:14With a day filled with great racing, great people and great entertainment finished off
03:34with a breathtaking fireworks display and light show, the Dubai World Cup is truly a
03:38spectacle that stands alone on the world stage.
