00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. also called for the appointment of Police General Rommel Francisco Marvil as the chief of the PNP.
00:08Based on the memorandum that was signed on February 4, 2025 by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin,
00:16the President approved the four-month extension of Marvil's service even though he has already passed the mandatory retirement age of 56 years old.
00:26Marvil, the 30th chief of the PNP, is a member of the PMA-Sambisig Class of 1991 and was appointed as PNP chief on April 1, 2024.
00:39Before this, he led the PNP Directorate for Comptrollership, became Regional Director of Police Regional Office 8, and served as Director of Highway Patrol Group.
00:51In his term, Marvil helped initiatives on modernization of law enforcement and strengthening of crime prevention in the country.
