00:03has given the high collection of taxes

00:05along with the start of the 2025 National Tax Campaign

00:10of the Bureau of Internal Revenue.

00:15In every tax that we pay,

00:19we are not only serving the country,

00:23we are also building a prosperous Philippines.

00:28President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

00:31has encouraged the payment of the correct taxes

00:33in front of the start of the 2025 National Tax Campaign

00:38of the Bureau of Internal Revenue.

00:40The payment of taxes is important

00:42to fund the programs of the government

00:45that pushes for prosperity

00:47and provides proper services to Filipinos.

00:51They fund our schools where our children learn.

00:54They support our healthcare system.

00:56They maintain our roads and infrastructure.

00:59They are investments in our shared future.

01:01Last year,

01:03the BIR collected almost Php 2.86 trillion,

01:08which is 13% more than in 2023.

01:12Under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos,

01:15which is the highest in the agency's collection

01:18and the first time the target of the Development Budget Coordination Committee

01:23was reached in 20 years,

01:25the effective service of the BIR

01:29was achieved through digitalization,

01:31such as the online registration and update system

01:34that speeds up the registration

01:37and update of information of the taxpayers.

01:40The pursuit of PEC and transactions

01:43resulted in the collection of more than Php 40 billion.

01:48The government's collection of more than Php 100 million

01:53from illegal sales of vape, cigarettes, and other products.

01:58According to the President,

02:00We will hold those who continue to circumvent our system accountable.

02:05who play for Php 5 to Php 10

02:08and have been imprisoned for up to 6 years

02:12or non-payment of their due compensation.
